Count Micro Machine Man

I love Micro Machines, this probably isn't a surprise to regular site readers. However being Halloween, how does that factor into the Pumpkin Spiced Madness? Well, in this commercial for the Micro Lights toys (they have tiny headlights, it's adorable), John Moschitta Jr. talks really fast about these new toys in a spooky setting to advertise the gimmick. Fast talking Dracula may seem corny, but it's pretty amazing that he could do the Bela Lugosi impersonation the entire time.

New Week Robo

It's Monday and that means a new week here on Planet Zone! I hope you had a good weekend, mine was pretty hit or miss. I managed to assemble that new home office furniture for the Mrs. Not to mention my Toxitron arrived Saturday with Grimlock coming later this week. We got some Halloween Jibbitz for our Crocs and ordered new Hey Dude shoes. A trip to Five Below provided TF Micro Machines and a Jada Michelangelo to pair with my prior Raphael. I plan to complete the Jada mini figure TMNT team as well as the Mutant Mayhem set. Speaking of, got the Donatello from that series.

On the crappy side, the SD card in my Q90 died. Meaning I'll have to make an all new one. That's something I should have done already knowing the cheap one packed with the Q90 wouldn't last long... but it was easy to forget about. Not to be outdone by a gaming inconvenience, some random car troubles popped up Sunday that'll require a trip to the dealership today. Not awesome. Here's hoping it's covered under some recent recalls so I don't get stuck with a big bill. From what I understand, it's related to them, so fingers crossed.

Well, I've got some fun stuff in store for you all. Hope you're enjoying Halloween, because we're just getting started! Thank you all for reading. I really appreciate it and all I ask is that you share with your friends!

Weekly Update 8/29/22

That new SD Gundam game has had me thinking a lot about Doozy Bots lately. I absolutely would have loved Doozy Bots... I need to get that game! Speaking things I need to get, it's time to get... *ahem* It's a new week here on Planet Zone!

The Mrs and I took in quite a bit of new Halloween merchandise at Target and Dollar Tree this weekend. It's not all up, but a good bit was! So cool, there's some great new stuff this year. Walmart has a very tiny amount, but more is on the way. We've been watching 'let's shop' videos and as usual our stores are a little behind others. I'm thankful that Walmart and Target seem to be getting back to having most of it ready by Labor Day. In recent years they've gotten away from it, but thankfully not this year.

As far as toys go, I got a Micro Machines Transformers blind set at Target. They had Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron stuff, but I'm holding just a little longer to get some. With all the Transformers out right now, I'm trying to be a little responsible with my spending. I got a Barbatos Lupus Rex Gunpla for a great price at Hobby Lobby. They've got boxed models 40% off currently, not bad!

Walmart I picked up Burn Out and Blurr from the Velocitron Speedia 500 set. Just need Cosmos and Override to get them all! There's more TF out there, but that's all at my stores. After I get reasonably caught up, I'll focus on some other stuff I'm wanting to get. I also got an organization case to store my TF Micro Machines at Hobby Lobby. Little toys demand proper storage. Usually I opt for plastic shoeboxes, but I decided to use the same bead organizers I use for Mega Construx MOTU.

Hopefully I'll have a new episode of Transform Squadron out this week. If anything it'll be recorded and submitted to TF Radio. Halloween is in full swing here on the Base. Thanks to each and every one of you for continuing to support Zone Base. I know theres bigger and better sites out there, so it means so much to me that you take time to read my little podunk site. Please, if you could, share with your friends. I don't have any any ads or begging, I do this for fun. I like to think we're all enjoying our hobbies together here and on the show. So that's all I ask. Thanks for reading!

Star Wars Action Fleet

The new Star Wars movie coming out this weekend (tickets for Sunday morning!) and like many of you I'm super excited. Well, aside from that one asshole who just mmmaaagggiiicccaaalllyyy has a problem with anything popular. I'm a life long Star Wars fan and just outright love the series. With The Mandalorian charming the crap out of everyone each week, Star Wars is on a pretty high note right now.

I'm hoping to enjoy the new movie and I'm pretty sure I will. That's not ignoring any faults the movie may or may not have, that's just me usually liking a Star Wars movie. I'm not particularly concerned on what some critic says or anything. Nobody else gets to enjoy it for me and that's my advice to any of you who are bound to see nerds being wet blankets online. Just enjoy yourself and don't worry what some douche bag says.

Back to loving Star Wars, one of my favorite toy lines from the history of the series would be the Micro Machines toys. Micro Machines are great on their own, but you pair Star Wars with the concept and it's just gold. I was overjoyed when they brought back the Micro Machines with the new SW movies in awesome blind bags as well as in standard packaging. Though, for a while there in the 90's, they made them even better.

Action Fleet was a sub series of Micro Machines of larger toys. Not huge or anything, just larger. Essentially a miniature toy line. Tiny little figures of the characters with a tiny bit of articulation (as opposed to the tiny figurines of MM SW) with play sets and vehicles they could pilot and interact with. I admittedly like small toys as is, but you can't deny how awesome it is to have a small well featured X-Wing that had removable pilots and droids. I doubt it's hard to express just how awesome something like a fully functional Jaba's Palace that could easily be stored away in a shoe box.

Woo hoo new Micronauts!

Earlier today, the internet (or at least my corners of it) was all abuzz regarding this cool SDCC 2017 Revolutionaries crossover set. It's super cool and I personally wouldn't mind having it. Though what's really captured my imagination about it is the Micronauts included. I've been anticipating any news regarding the new Hasbro Micronauts for what feels like forever and aside from bits and bobs here and there, I haven't really gotten much. There was the SDCC set last year that was essentially reissues of older toys. I've know of the upcoming cartoon in development for a bit now, but all I know is that it's in development. I really should check out the IDW comics, and I probably should do that sooner than later.

They're to scale with the other toys.

So, seeing as these are the only real new mold toys in the set, it leads me to believe that they are part of the eventual new toy line to coincide with the new cartoon. My mind is kinda blown ad they seem to be Micro Machine type figures on par with the figures that come with Micro Machine Star Wars toys. Micro Machines are my favorite way to buy Star Wars toys and I've amassed quite a ton of them since the 90's.

I want these in a million colors.

While I had been assuming whatever would come from the new Micronauts toy line would be similar to the originals, I don't mind being wrong if this is the case. This would be perfect, especially as they fit right on in with Micro Machines toys as is. Seeing how kids often mixed Micronauts in with their Kenner Star Wars toys back in the day, I could totally see kids mixing these new Micronauts in with their Micro Machine Star Wars toys. And when I say kids, I mean man children. When I say man children, I mean me.

I want blind bags and j-card sets.

*edit* Adding to my theory, on the inside of the box set cover there's a description of each comic. Though oddly enough, there is a logo for Microspace (where they're from) instead of Micronauts. A Micro Machine type toy line named Microspace sounds perfect.
