Mega Monday

The holiday break is sadly over and it's time to start another work week, HOWEVER, it's also time to get back to the robots, monsters, and misadventure! I've got a fun week of content coming for your eyeballs this week, but first, let me tell you about this holiday break I had. It started Wednesday with a relaxing evening at home with the Mrs. We watched the new episodes of Stranger Things while making some dishes for Thanksgiving dinner. We'd watch an episode and make a dish. Watch an episode and make a dish. Things like pies and cranberry sauce that can be made ahead to save on the crunch time. The new episodes were great and I'm really marveling at how much the show has changed since it began. Rewatching it this past summer was a great idea.

Thursday was Thanksgiving and we started the day watching the big parade as we always do. I've been watching it my entire life and still love doing so. Though, in the future, I may start watching the alternative presentations. I really just want to watch the floats and balloons. While some of the musical productions are neat, I really don't care. I've discovered an alternate camera angle edition of the show on Peacock where I watch it and know of some other showings. Regardless, it was great seeing Spider-Man, Mario, Pac-Man, Pokémon, and Labubu making appearances.

We spent a few hours at My Mother's house afterwards. My brother and his family came over and we all enjoyed dinner together. Of course with Christmas coming, there was a lot of opportunities to get ideas for gifts. The Mrs is an excellent gift giver, but you always need inspiration for the right ones! My brother is an outdoorsman and does a lot of livestreaming in relation. It's kind of funny seeing how his hobbies and mine are so vastly different... but use the same internet to interact with others. It also helps me figure out what to get him because I know nothing of the great outdoors.

Afterwards,  the Mrs and I had our own Thanksgiving dinner Thursday evening. It was so good as she is an excellent cook. This may have been her best turkey yet! We spent the evening watching Most Extreme Elimination Challenge while I built Blokees and she played a game. It was time to rest as Black Friday neared. We initially planned to get up super early and stand in line at Target... but slept in instead. That turned out to have been a good idea as the gift bags Target gave out to the first 100 customers turned out to be a bust. They promised the moon and stars only to deliver a pile of turds. Oh well!

Friday was spent doing an amazing amount of Christmas shopping. Like, an amazing amount. According to my Galaxy Watch, I got nearly 10,000 steps in and I believe it! We started shopping in November, but took advantage of the sales to really get a lot of stuff. Today is the first of December and we're mostly done... though I've got the feeling we're going to still go nuts. We always spoil each other at Christmas and love getting our loved ones just the right things. While I focused on others, I did grab a few things for myself. Specifically some Mr Beast Labs Swarms.

I know alot of folks on social media take issue with him, I hardly have an idea who he is. However, his line of toys is really great. He partnered with Moose Toys whom have made a lot of fun stuff. Some I've even talked about here. Swarms are something I specifically like. Years prior, Moose Toys made Trash Pack and Grossery Gang. A series of awesome keshi with gross out designs I really enjoyed. Swarms are something of a spiritual successor to those with similar designs and some really cool monsters! I got a few packs happily as well as a neat 3D printed lizard figit toy from Five Below. Speaking of Five Below, they had a great series of troll dolls as classic movie monsters! I got Michael Myers! I was a big fan of trolls as a kid and feel a little of that love seeing these! So cool! Not to be left out, a Stranger Things blind pack. I got a Demogorgan in slime!

Saturday we went grocery shopping in person as holidays are a terrible time for grocery orders. Afterwards, we found ourselves checking out a different Target before enjoying a nice dinner at Outback Steakhouse. I got some more Swarms, actually there's a neat Target exclusive Christmas series. I think I've got the distribution figured out and just need two more packs to complete it. We actually discovered another newer brand of tiny toys while there that the Mrs fell in love with. Wigglitz is a delightful series of tiny 3D printed segmented animals that come on a variety of sculpts and colors. They're part figit toy and part collectible. She got several packs and Ginger the pink wolf accompanied us to dinner.

Saturday night we decorated the inside of our house for Christmas which included putting up our new tree! It's a big 7 and a half feet tall featuring pre-installed lights that can be controlled with a remote for a variety of functions. Man, living in the future sure is neat! Sunday I had planned to decorate the yard and house, but a rainy day changed those plans. Hopefully the weather will be better next week. Instead I did chores and built Blokees while watching more Most Extreme Elimination Challenge. You know, I watch old episodes of that regularly... but I think I got the entire series in over the break. Mom came over for Sunday dinner, we had Christmas tacos! We also showed Mom the first episode of the new Stranger Things season. We'll probably get an episode in each week up until the new batch of episodes at the end of the month. I'm not looking forward to it ending, but happy that it seems to be on a high note.

Well, I've got some stuff to do. I actually wrote this while running errands and doing chores. Ironically I talked about Wigglitz while refilling the bird seed on our porch. We always keep some out there, but now that it's winter, we're keeping extra. There's not alot for them to eat while it's cold, so we try to help. Actually, let me get on a soap box for a second. You've probably seen a lot of self righteous assholes on social media telling you what to think and who to give money to (it's always something that benefits them magically). Just try to be a good person and help out when and how you can. If it feels right, it usually is and those dipshits are just out for clout anyway. Don't listen to redundant mother fuckers and if that includes me, then I understand. I don't make a dime off this site, so whatever. Zone Base is just a way for me to enjoy my hobbies with whomever wants to enjoy them with me. Thank you all for reading and supporting actual independent thought. We're getting back to normal this week after the break, but we're going to have one fun Christmas here on Planet Zone! Please don't forget to share with your friends, look after your loved ones, and take care of each other. Mutual High Fives everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving, Zone Base readers!

I don’t know how many of you are reading this today, but I’m thankful for everyone who visits the site and checks out what I’ve got to say. Even though I don’t make a fuss over it, I’ve always enjoyed Thanksgiving—watching the big parade, spending time with family, enjoying the great food, and, of course, the tryptophan naps.

The holiday break is a great time to rest and recharge… something I definitely could use right about now. And, of course, there’s the joy of diving into some Christmas shopping on Friday! Nothing like throwing a few elbows in Walmart to kick off the season. By now, we’re all digesting our food… and maybe the new episodes of Stranger Things too. Thank you all for supporting Zone Base—don’t forget to share it with your friends. I hope you win the wishbone and enjoy the day! Mutual High Fives, everyone!

Thankful for a Holiday Week... but not a Monday

It’s a new week, Zone Base readers — but not just any new week. It’s a holiday week! I’m really looking forward to the time off work and getting some rest while enjoying time with the Mrs. and family.

It’s actually Sunday night as I’m writing this. Working overnight like I do, I usually have to work the Sunday night before a big holiday to offset the week a little. It’s not fun, but… it’s not fun. Adulting sucks. Fortunately, it’s a short work week, so at least it’s worth it.

I hope you all had a good weekend. Mine was pretty short, but still enjoyable. Had a fun dinner Saturday afternoon at Outback Steakhouse with the Mrs. and my mom. Got out to do some Christmas shopping, too. Black Friday deals started early at a lot of stores, and I managed to snag a great discount on a few things!

Sunday morning, the Mrs. and I went out and bought a new Christmas tree for our living room. We’ve been using the same flocked one for a few years now, and she wanted to mix it up with something that had a little extra color. It’s a big one, too — so, as usual, I’ll be putting the star on top!

Since Thanksgiving is this week, we did our grocery shopping in-store for a change instead of delivery. I’m already looking forward to smelling the turkey cooking Thursday morning while we watch the parade.

It’s probably safe to say many of you won’t be reading as much this week — but for those of you worldwide who do check in every day… thank you so much. It honestly means a lot to see my large international audience come in regularly to see what I’ve posted.

I’ll be on holiday this week enjoying a break from my normally hectic schedule, so posting will be a bit limited. However… I’ve got something BIG coming to help make up for my absence.

Thank you all for reading — every single one of you. Please don’t forget to share with your friends, and mutual high fives, everyone!

In Christmas Zones

The Thanksgiving break is over meaning Christmas is in full gear here on Zone Base. I hope everyone who celebrated had a great holiday and everyone who didn't had a great week! I definitely enjoyed the days off as this time of the year is pretty tough at work which added to the busyness of the holidays can make for one burned out brain. That being said, this year to celebrate Christmas, we'll be letting the random Wednesday posts focus solely on Christmas fun! It's the holiday season and we're gonna ring it in!

I spent my holiday break with the Mrs and family getting rest and enjoying some video games. The Mrs and I did get out Friday for a day of Christmas shopping and even though I'm not focusing on myself this month (it's a time to think of others, dangit!), I did manage to grab myself a few fun things. I checked out Ross to hopefully find some of the amazing Transformers deals others were finding. While mine came up mostly empty handed, I did finally find a Legacy Shrapnel! Target had the Super7 ReAction Transformers blind boxes and I grabbed two which ended up being Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

These are great little figures and it's no secret that I love ReAction figures. I also picked up my Advent Calendar for this Christmas season. Jada Metalfig Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! This looks like a fun advent and full of two things I can't get enough of. TMNT and Metalfigs! Like the advent calendars from years prior, I'll be opening one every day on my Instagram. Please give me a follow while you're there. If you like my content here, you'll sure to enjoy what I post there. Well, speaking of content, I've got to get to work drumming up pictures for future posts. December is a hectic month, but I'll stay on top of the robots, monsters, and misadventure here on Zone Base! Thank you all for reading and please don't forget to share with your friends!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! Wow, it's hard to believe it was 20 years ago when I watched this marathon in between bites of turkey. I hope everyone reading has a great day and hey... let's watch some Energon.

It's the beginning of a holiday week here on Planet Zone! I'll be on holiday most of the week, but there's still a little content coming your way. Regular posting will resume next week, until then, don't forget to share with your friends and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Keizer Monday

Bloody hell, it's Monday again. Personally, I was having a great weekend too. Saturday the Mrs and I went Christmas shopping and Sunday we saw the newest Venom movie. Actually, I went Christmas shopping Friday morning too. The season is drawing near, meaning I'm going to have some extra busy days working in the holidays with my work life. I'm sure you will too, but no worries, Zone Base is here to keep you entertained with robots, monsters, and misadventure! This weekend will be extra hectic to prepare myself for next weeks Thanksgiving holiday break. Not just a hard work week, but some weekend work to offset the days off. No so great, but it will definitely make the time off sweeter.

That being said, next week will have a little interruption in the normal posting schedule. There will be content, just not as much. I'm sure you all understand and hopefully you'll have a great holiday week too! I did get some great new stuff for myself while shopping. The Mrs picked up Studio Series Gamer Edition Ratchet for me last week, and I found Studio Series Gamer Edition Bumblebee and Monster Series Mechagodzilla while out Friday. Saturday was busy, but I did pick up Legacy Quake.

Actually Saturday was kinda a little personal BotCon for me. I only got a few hours sleep. Bought toys, watched Transformers One and played Transformers Minecraft. I had some frozen pizza and fell asleep watching GIJOE.  Just like the old days! I'm actually planning to watch Gobots all day today and get a few weeks of toy pics for upcoming site posts. The holidays are wild times, and I'm sure to ring them in the only way I know how. By the skin of my teeth and keeping it gonzo as always. Thank you all for reading Zone Base. Next week will be a little different, but don't worry, it will return to normal soon after. I've got some fun stuff coming over the upcoming days, please look forward to it! Don't forget to share with your friends!

It's Monday, pass the Cranberry Sauce

It's the start of a new week here on Zone Base, but not just any week... it's a holiday week! Thanksgiving is here and with it is my regular long holiday break. I'm pretty happy about it as I could really use the mini vacation. I do have a post coming, but regular posting will resume next week. Thanks for understanding. However this is normally the "What I did this weekend" post of the week and let me tell you about this weekend I had. Well, for one... it was a pretty short one. Being that I work overnight and there's a holiday this week, I'm working Sunday night to offset the short work week. But the amount of weekend I had was pretty good!

The Mrs and I normally have our groceries delivered, but picked them out in person instead while doing out weekly shopping. That's something I rarely do anymore, so it's kinda fun. Extra food for our Thanksgiving dinner was picked out and man I'm looking forward to it! We also went to Target and while there I picked up Detritus and Core Class Thundercracker from Legacy: Evolution. I'm starting to feel like that Buzzworthy Bumblebee Troop Builder set is an urban legend. Hopefully I can find Beast Battlemaster Air Razor soon. Speaking of Beast Battlemasters, hope you all are enjoying the newest episode of Transform Squadron! Well, it's time I got back to work. Thanks everyone for reading Zone Base. If you like what I'm doing, thanks! If you could, please share the site with your friends. That'd be super awesome.

Happy Thanksgiving from Zone Base!

It's Thanksgiving on Planet Zone! Time to get some rest and be thankful for what you have. Me? I'm thankful for all of you continuing to read my nonsense and supporting the site. If you could share posts with your friends, I'd be even more thankful. If the week's content so far wasn't any indication... I'm taking a bit of a break this week. Don't worry, I'll be back next week with more of the robots, monsters, and misadventure! But until then... I'm uh... taking a nap. Damn, I'm tired. Thanks for reading and I'll be back next week!

Weekly Update- 11/21/22 Holiday Edition

It's the start of a new week here on Planet Zone! Not just any week, a holiday week! Between the days off and pretty much working non-stop until then... It'll be a mini-Bios week before taking a much needed break. But don't worry, everything will return back to normal next week. Pinky Swear. Thanks so much for continuing to support Zone Base. Transform Squadron 38- Tryptophan X

LISTEN NOW!

Happy Thanksgiving! While observing turkey day, Rob takes time to reflect on the holiday. Godzilla turns 68, and Shogun Warriors are discussed. Wake up from your food coma... or maybe fall asleep while listening to this transmission from Zone Base!

Weekly Update- 11/14/22

Hope everyone is ready for a new week on Planet Zone! This weekend was pretty laid back. We did some shopping and started decorating the house for Christmas. That'll be finished next weekend, but we got a good start. This is going to be a pretty busy week for me as it'll be pretty much a straight shot from tonight untill Wednesday morning at work. Aside from Saturday, I'll be working all week untill getting off for the Thanksgiving break. Not looking forward to that, but hopefully you all will enjoy the upcoming episode of Transform Squadron!

As far as toys go- Five Below resulted in a Bakugan Gorthion, a Stanger Things blind bag Demogorgon, and Mario from a Super Mario Bros. blind bag. A stop by Ross resulted in some more Bakugan whose names I can't remember at the time. The Flash and Batman who Laughs from Super Powers was bought at Walmart. Unfortunately no Transformers I didn't already have were found. Goes that way sometimes. I've got a fun week in store for you all. Thanks for reading Zone Base and please share with your friends!

The Genesis of a New Week at Christmas

It's a new week and the start of the Christmas season here on Planet Zone! It's also back to a normal work week after the long holiday break. I've always seen the Thanksgiving break as a mid- year vacation and honestly this one was a pretty good one. Between the holiday shopping, taking in the Christmas sights, and some quality time at home. I enjoyed the holiday a lot. Now that it's Christmas time I'm also under the official 'don't buy anything until after Christmas' order. So for toy posts during the next month, we're going through the back log from the time I was getting sick to just too busy to open. There's quite a bit. My Draculus did come in Sunday, so happy to finally have him! Also now that it's Christmas time, we're going to celebrate the holiday here on Zone Base! It's not the same as Halloween time, but it's going to get pretty weird here on the site over the next few weeks. Between weird, cursed, and charming (I do like the holiday you know) we're going to have a good time with Saint Nick. He knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake, he knows if you've been bad or good. So share with your friends for goodness sake!

Pass the rolls and please share with your friends!

Head On into a New Week

It's Monday and that means it's the start of a new week here on Planet Zone! It's Sunday night as I'm writing this at my desk here at work. Thanksgiving is one of the holidays that I work on Sunday night to compensate for the offset holiday week. Even though I only had Saturday off, I still had a pretty good weekend. The Mrs an I got our groceries in person instead of the normal delivery service. Being Thanksgiving we needed a lot and sometimes it's just better to pick things out. Saturday night we saw Ghostbusters Afterlife. Which you've already read about. I totally schedule posts to publish later than when I wrote them normally. YOLO.

After the movie, the Mrs wanted to stop by Target for something and I was hoping to find a Winston with Slimer. I totally failed on that but did get a MOTU Origins Faker. Score. It's going to be a shorter week, I could really use the mini vacation the holiday will give me. However that doesn't mean it won't be a fun week here, I've got one of those in mind. I'm thankful for all of you continuing to read and support my weird little site. Please share with your friends and pass the cranberry sauce!

New Week SHARP

It's the beginning of another new week here on Planet Zone! Not just any other week, it's a holiday week! Thanksgiving is this Thursday which does mean a little less content this week. The lead up to holidays are generally pretty hectic at work for me. Not to mention the holiday activities! I'll be enjoying Thanksgiving dinner with my family (don't worry, it's a small group this year), putting up Christmas decorations, crazy shopping, and getting some much needed rest. I'm a big fan of Thanksgiving. Not just because of the food and the fun, but there's always a generally pleasant vibe to the air that just makes me happy. Thank you for continuing to read Zone Base! As always please share, it's all I ask!

Masterforce English dub bumbers

While we're all enjoying the holiday break, why not take a few moments to enjoy the bumper segments for the Star TV/Omni/RTM1 version of Masterforce. That guy totally gets hoarse halfway through.

Even Godzilla loves a turkey dinner

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope everyone out there is having a great holiday and enjoying a great dinner! I'm sure you all understand me taking a little break from regular posting for a few days as I'm enjoying the holiday break and getting some much needed rest. But don't you worry none, in just a few days the lights will go up and we can all celebrate Christmas for the next month together!
