What should I be?

The opening music to Garfield's Halloween Adventure is burned into my memory they way a channel logo is on your TV. At any random moment, there it is... that flute followed by the screams of Blinky the Clown. I don't know how many times I've seen this special, but it doesn't matter. I'll watch it even more times. It's wonderful. This is another of my annual Halloween posts. It's tradition! The perfect Halloween night as experienced by our favorite lasagna addicted cat. It's all there. Deciding on a costume, carving a pumpkin, trick or treating, and even something scary! Perfection.

Orange Beard the Pirate and Odie the Stupid

We love Garfield in my household. From regularly watching his channel on Pluto TV to the army of plushies in our bedroom. So of course his holiday specials are required viewing. Garfield's Halloween Adventure/Garfield in Disguise is one of my favorite Halloween specials that's so good it gets regular viewings all year long! It's Halloween and Garfield wants some candy. Along with Odie (where's Lyman?), he goes trick or treating and gets the scare of his life! It's the ideal Halloween night!

Let's have One great Week

Good morning Zone Base readers and welcome back to another great week of robots, monsters, and misadventure! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was pretty great too! It was a rainy weekend full of TV and rest. I feel asleep watching Zyuranger and TMNT a few times and even watched the new Garfield movie. As far as toys go, I got the Go-Bots Guardians 3-Pack! Heck yeah! I had somehow missed out on the pre-orders, but found it at my local Gamestop. Well, I've got a busy day ahead of me. It's the last week before our Annual Halloween party starts for the next 3 months! Hope you're all looking forward to some Pumpkin Spiced Mayhem! Well, I've got a fun week planned for you all. It's Monday, pass the Cranberry Sauce

It's the start of a new week here on Zone Base, but not just any week... it's a holiday week! Thanksgiving is here and with it is my regular long holiday break. I'm pretty happy about it as I could really use the mini vacation. I do have a post coming, but regular posting will resume next week. Thanks for understanding. However this is normally the "What I did this weekend" post of the week and let me tell you about this weekend I had. Well, for one... it was a pretty short one. Being that I work overnight and there's a holiday this week, I'm working Sunday night to offset the short work week. But the amount of weekend I had was pretty good!

The Mrs and I normally have our groceries delivered, but picked them out in person instead while doing out weekly shopping. That's something I rarely do anymore, so it's kinda fun. Extra food for our Thanksgiving dinner was picked out and man I'm looking forward to it! We also went to Target and while there I picked up Detritus and Core Class Thundercracker from Legacy: Evolution. I'm starting to feel like that Buzzworthy Bumblebee Troop Builder set is an urban legend. Hopefully I can find Beast Battlemaster Air Razor soon. Speaking of Beast Battlemasters, hope you all are enjoying the newest episode of Transform Squadron! Well, it's time I got back to work. Thanks everyone for reading Zone Base. Garfields Halloween Adventure

It's just not Halloween without Garfield. That's the rules and they're unbreakable. This absolute classic features Garfield and Odie going trick or treating before getting into a spooky ghost adventure. The trick or treating sequence is just so well done as is the pirate ghosts... I'm actually offended this isn't in a museum. Dang, that bat costume Garfield is super rad. I could be a scary vampire, and turn myself into a bat. Flap,flap.

Weekly Update- 1/30/23

Unfortunately the weekend has ended, but that just means a new week here on Planet Zone! I spent this weekend mostly at home aside from some shopping. I had intended to get some put off housework done, but that didn't happen. I did manage to pick up some fun stuff. Two Micro Galaxy Squadron blind boxes, two of the new way cool Dungeons and Dragons Dicelings (way cool D&D monsters that transform into dice), Studio Series Core class Laserbeak, a copy of Yokaiden book 2 (Five Below has good deals on manga), and Terror Claws Skeletor from MOTU Origins (random luck at Big Lots). It's the beginning of the year. Stock can be low, but I found some good stuff.

I also ordered a carrying case for my Digimon. The Mrs got me a 20th anniversary unit for Christmas and it's been fun to play again after all these years. I intend to get one of the Digimon X units later. I always liked lcd gadgets and had fun with virtual pets back in the day. This is just a great portable RPG. Now I can carry it around without getting it dirty. I watched some good TV. Lots of paranormal TV and the new episode of 1000lbs Sisters (it's surprisingly addictive, ok). Also finally watched My Amityville Horror. It's a documentary about the oldest Lutz child including various interviews with news personalities that handled the case and therapists. It doesn't try to convince you if it really happened or didn't. Just sort of a look at this persons life and everything that happened because of it. Pretty interesting. I also worked in a viewing of Garfield's Halloween Adventure... look, you know how this works.

It's Thanksgiving on Planet Zone! Time to get some rest and be thankful for what you have. Me? I'm thankful for all of you continuing to read my nonsense and supporting the site. In Disguise

Well, that's not the only time he went trick or treating. In his 2008 CGI series, Garfield went out again. This time dressed up like the recently escaped from the local zoo Catzilla! Considering how it went the last time, nothing can go wrong again can it? Both of these are the perfect Halloween adventures. The excitement of going trick or treating. The spooky fun. Getting a costume together, knocking on doors. Then, like any good Halloween should, a scary adventure before the night ends. Garfield has had two ideal Halloween nights, how about you?

The One Thing I'm Not Is A Scaredy Cat

Garfield's Halloween Adventure is really a special kind of ...uh... special. You see, most Halloween specials revolve around the regular cast participating in the holiday. Maybe they're going to a party, or trick or treating. One thing's for sure is the general reveal of familiar faces in their costume. Here we see Garfield convince Odie to come with him, watch them make their costumes, and go out trick or treating. That's already how most Halloween specials go. That would be the entire thing. Maybe somebody would learn a lesson or something. Not here, nope, Garfield and Odie do that BEFORE finding themselves stranded on an island in a haunted house. It's just the type of thing you want to happen on Halloween. Spooky shit of the finest caliber. Garfield's Halloween Adventure is just the best. The best spooky shit.

Maybe They Didn't See Us

Garfield's Halloween Adventure is a spooky season institution. It's one of the best specials of the holiday that's unfortunately been swept under the rug by time. Because time is an asshole. We get to see Garfield and Odie go trick or treating which leads to a scary run in with some pirate ghosts. All the ingredients for a perfect Halloween cartoon!

I don't know about you, but I remember always being slightly worried that we'd run across some actual ghosts while out on Halloween night back then. With all the spooky shit going on and being the hey day of Satanic Panic, there was the real possibility of running into a real monster. Like a real monster, not that old guy who won't take off his wolfman mask. Jerk.

I think that's one of the things that makes this special so... special. I didn't want to be that corny, but there's not any other words for what I was trying to say. It combines everything about Halloween night into a 22 minute cartoon. There's not a lot of Halloween specials that manage to do that and let's face it, I'll post those that do here. Either during the season or in January.

Friday Night Frights- Garfield's Halloween Adventure

I've been on a roll the past few weeks with Friday Night Frights here on the base. We've been following safety tips and walking around in masks. Nope, it's not Halloween... just this sucky situation called covid-19. But, like I've been saying, Halloween is fun! Spooky shit is the kool-aid we drink around here and why not just pretend it's the most fun time of the year on this site while we're sticking it out? Garfield's Halloween Adventure is a freaking classic where he goes trick or treating with Odie only to stumble upon real ghosts! A whole generation was traumatized by this thing... enjoy!

Garfield is a Halloween Hypocrite

The closer we get to the big day, I feel it's my responsibility to pass along some good advice. Trick or treating is fun, but can be very dangerous. Fortunately Garfield is here with some safety tips that you can use for a fun and safe Halloween. Unfortunately... Garfield has turned my site into a HOUSE OF LIES.
