Terroar [Snake Men/Origins]

The Snake Men have always been an extra dangerous set of villains in Masters of the Universe. Hailing from earlier in history than the current problems with Skeletor, they are an ancient evil that pops up here and there. Origins is a really unique toy line. Full of homages to the past, but also with new characters that are made to fit in with classic MOTU lore. In recent months, Mattel has been creating new Snake Men much to fan and collector delight. They're really cool. We'll be looking at Terroar today as I love his freakishness. Mattel recognized MOTU fans tendency to make customized figures when developing Origins and engineered them with interchangeable joints from the start. Utilizing this, these new Snake Men figures are all made from existing parts with new colors. Repaints aren't new, but when done this way it's extra neat.

Terroar is made from the parts of Whiplash, Trap Jaw, Rattlor, and Mosquitor. Mostly Whiplash and Trap-Jaw which is more obvious, but the neck extension piece is from Rattlor and the boots are from Mosquitor. When parts from other figures are combined like this, it's often called 'Frankenstein-ing'. That term really fits Terroar as he looks like something from the Doctors lab. I like the idea of this weird reptilian warrior with cybernetic parts. He kinda of looks like a background character from a MOTU mini-comic. Just some freak soldier the artist got a little creative with, but he's got a bigger role in Lord Gr'Asp's (we'll get to him later) crew. The neck extension can be removed or added as you please for that striking snake look, and the weapons can be swapped out on his mechanical arm. I talk about monsters all year on this site (it's in the description), but this one seems perfect for Halloween. He's just so freaky and weird. It's great!

Beast Man [Turtles of Grayskull]

Beast Man did not trust the alien outsiders. Rather than become Krang's next mutated experiment, Beast Man escaped to strike a bargain with He-Man. What he found instead left him shell-shocked.

Beast Man is one of the classic MOTU characters that no series feels complete without. So of course he makes a showing in Turtles of Grayskull, but a rather unique one. Beast Man, who isn't feeling like the Foot Clan and their Mutagen are the best idea, isn't mutated like the other Evil Warriors. However, Beast Man has taken up the ways of the Samurai as his cool new armor would imply. This figure is a straight forward reprint of the Origins Beast Man toy with the additional armor and weapon.

Every toy line has cost saving figures and this is one of them. Fortunately the Origins Beast Man is an all around solid toy and the new stuff included makes for a nice cherry on the top. Replacing his trademark bullwhip whip is a cool new razor chain whip. Clearly taming the animals under his control inst Beast Man's focal point at the moment. The Samurai armor fits neatly over the figure, though I found the helmet to be a little loose. Not a deal breaker, but I'd prefer a slightly better fit. Beast Man is also carrying a turtle shell shield which keeps him matching the other figures (Teela comes with a similar one) and the theme. I did notice some official stock photos displaying a different shield instead of the one that comes included. I don't know if that was a running change or a variant. Fans in MOTU groups haven't pointed it out to my knowledge, so it may be the former. This is a fun figure of a classic character. He has a more simple approach to the theme and that's ok, because it still works. The gold armor contrasts nicely with his oranges and reds. Frankly, I think the whole looks suits him really well.

Krang [Turtles of Grayskull]

A mad science experiment gone wrong, Krang has crossed the dimensions and found himself in Eternia in a faster, stronger Megatroid android body, seeking to obtain the Power of Grayskull!

It's time we look at the larger deluxe figures from Turtles of Grayskull and no better character to do so that Krang! That evil alien from Dimension X has invaded Eternia and has teamed up with Megator to serve as his robot body! This is a really cool and unique figure. I've been praising this line non-stop for it's creativity and Krang really is an example of why. TMNT characters in Turtles of Grayskull are given a nice MOTU flavoring, in Krang's case it's his android body. Megator, the Evil Warriors giant has been given cybernetic improvements turning him into Megatroid!

Megatroid serves both as a stand alone figure and a body for Krang. Taking advantage of MOTU Origin's use of modular joints, an extra mid-section can be added to Megatroid which houses Krang! This gives Krang's traditional android body a complete MOTU make over in a cool and imaginative way. Not just cosmetic, but fully combining him with another character! Megatroid comes with an axe and morning star weapons that replace his hands which further melds him with the android body visually. Like other MOTU Origins toys, this figure is VERY articulated. Origins figures are pretty solid, but this is one hefty figure. It's size and weight in hand is incredibly satisfying. I've been saying that these feel like designer toys and I mean it. Krang doesn't feel like a toy I bought at Walmart (and is exclusive to Walmart as I understand) and more like something I'd find in a fancy glass case for way more than his relatively low retail price ($24.86). This may be the most impressive Turtles of Grayskull figure yet!

Undertaker [WWE Superstars/Series 3]

Masters of the WWE Universe was a fun toy line by Mattel featuring WWE wrestlers as MOTU characters. It was a fun series that used the MOTU Origins bodies and weapons that was totally interchangeable with Origins toys similar to Turtles of Grayskull. When the line ended, it shifted to a traditional wrestling toy line featuring the WWE wrestlers in their classic gimmicks. This new line, WWE Superstars has been running fairly successful ever since. Interestingly enough, these toys still use the MOTU Origins bodies and are still interchangeable with other Origins figures. That's pretty neat! Personally, I wasn't interested in these but have noticed their popularity with MOTU fans. There is a lot of customizers in the MOTU fandom and Origins bodies are made with that in mind, The joints and body parts can be disassembled with ease and combined with others.

These WWE figures are basically blank He-Man bodies perfect to use. My mother is an avid clearance aisle shopper who picked up this Undertaker figure from the toy line because she knows I like the Undertaker. Despite not being to interested in the line, it was neat to get one and of a wrestler I've always liked. The figure is based on The Undertaker's early 90's appearance around when the character first debuted. The figure is a MOTU Origins body with a pretty decently sculpted head that even has his hairstyle from that era. He features a removable hat with a cloth overcoat and tie. Underneath the coat, it's mostly a painted Origins body but with boots to match his 90's ring gear. The Undertaker even comes with extra hands to swap out so you can recreate some of his poses. This is a pretty cool concept that reminds me of in the 80's when companies like Remco would take the molds from their fantasy figures to make wrestler toys. Even though I don't have the urge to make a custom MOTU figure, I can see in this figure alone how all the parts would be just right to use. It's also a pretty great representation of The Undertaker from his early years. I'm pleasantly surprised with this toy and it's overall neatness. It's pretty great.

Ram Man [Turtles of Grayskull]

Ram Man awoke, covered in Ooze, and opened his mouth to speak only to hear a 'Baa' come out. All he knew was he had a new master and his name was Krang.

Ram Man is another Heroic Warrior whom has fell victim to the partnership between The Foot Clan and The Evil Warriors. He's now been changed into a mutated ram beast! As an adult, I love the pun based nature of MOTU. Having Ram Man combined with a ram is great and makes for a fun TMNT style twist on the classic character. I've been theorizing that this cast of TMNT is the 80's/90's cartoon crew based on the comics, and Ram Man definitely fits in with those toys.

He kinda reminds me of Groundchuck despite being a different color. It's that signature squat nature of Ram Man combined with the horns. Speaking of colors, I love these colors on this sculpt. Ram Man is the same purple with green veins that the Mutated He-Man is colored. That's a nice bit of uniformity among the Mutated Masters. Ram Man has a variation as well. Pictured here he is solid, but there is a translucent version out there. I just got one after taking these pictures, so believe me, it's out there. Ram Man has his signature hatchet and carrying another double sided axe for good measure. His characteristic armor has extra spikes making him look like a member of Gwar. To my understanding the tunic is removable, but I never saw a way to do so. There is a spot on the back of the tunic for weapon storage as well. He's very pose-able with 16 points of articulation. I'm kinda blown away by just how cool this toy is. Just look at that freak!

The Shredder [Turtles of Grayskull]

Shredder wanted to eliminate the Turtles once and for all. Unfortunately, Krang's plan to harness the most powerful force in the universe backfired and flung them to Planet Eternia, where they encountered a new ally. 

The Foot Clan has arrived on Eternia and joined forces with The Evil Warriors, so of course that means The Shredder is around. If there's a TMNT character naturally fit for the MOTU treatment, it's Shredder. His classic blade covered armor looks perfect here on a MOTU Origins body. However he's not just a He-Man version of The Shredder, there's some great styling going on. His trademark armor has been given an Eternian look.

The bladed plates have a cool dragon scale texture that matches with his helmet. His vest has been replaced with a body garment similar to Skeletor, but with a Foot Clan insignia. He's got some cool weapons as well, an Evil Horde style crossbow (I love those) and a gnarly axe that also features a Foot symbol. Add in his cape (which is a solid vinyl or rubber material) and The Shredder looks more evil than ever. I've been saying all along that these Turtles of Grayskull figures feel like designer toys and I mean it. The Shredder on Eternia is something special.

Raphael [Turtles of Grayskull]

After tracking Shredder to Krang's Technodrome, Raph charged in headfirst, then a flash sent the Turtles to Eternia. Wearing Ram Man's spare armor, he's tracking Shred Head and seeking a way back home.

Cool but rude, Raphael is wearing Ram Man's outfit to fight the Evil Warriors and Foot Clans team-up. It's easy to say this line goes hard, but in this instance, it goes really hard. Raphael looks amazing as a Ram Man analog, and considering his stubbornness... it's a fitting match. Outside of that it just looks great. Raphael comes with a cool twist on his trademark Sai, one is a large Eternia variation that can be stored on his shell. The other is attached to a gnarly gauntlet that allows for a real Punch of Kill Everything. Like the other Turtles, his shell can be detached and held as a shield. Everything just works so well and looks so cool, Ralph should really be the poster boy for the line. He just sells the line theme and gimmick so well. Of course he has the standard MOTU Origins amount of articulation and like the other Turtles his bandanna even has articulation. This is such a cool figure.

He-Man (Turtles of Grayskull)

What happens when the most Powerful Man in the Universe is doused with mutagenic ooze from another dimension? Nothing good. With He-man now a mindless pawn in Skeletor's hand, will this be the end of Eternia?

Turtles of Grayskull is a VERY cool addition to the already awesome Masters of the Universe Origins toy line. Blending retro looks with modern toy engineering and adding the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to the mix. Is a crossover that sounds insane (and is) but works perfectly. You've got TMNT characters looking like the Heroic and Evil Warriors with Mutated Masters. It's crazy and it works.

We'll be looking at He-Man from the line today and he's not what anybody expected going in. He-Man has been mutated by the Foot Clan in cahoots with Skeletor into a MONSTER! Now He-Man, the Most Powerful Mutant in the Universe is a real threat to the Heroic Warriors and Turtles. This toy is AWESOME. Now a translucent purple freak with green hair and red eyes... He-Man is really neat looking. He has green veins running through his body that look sharp against the purple skin. Not to mention, the traditional outfit is now covered in spikes for extra danger. I really enjoy his bandanna, it fits in with the theming but also is articulated for dramatic posing. While having the standard amount of articulation for an Origins figure, his arms are extra long and big adding to the mutation. For extra fun, one foot has busted through it's boot. Noticeably absent is the Power Sword which I expect to be addressed in the mini-comics (Leonardo sure has a solution). The Evil Warriors have equipped him with a spike covered mace which fits pretty well. Mutated He-Man could almost pass as an Ogre. This cool monster version of the classic hero feels really refreshing and all around neat. Turtles of Grayskull is a really imaginative take on two older ideas and I REALLY like it.

Donatello (Turtles of Grayskull)

Crossing dimensions into Eternia isn't so bad if you're Donatello and strike up a friendship with Man-At-Arms. The two tech geniuses create Turtle-inspired Eternian armor to combat Krang's mutants!

Turtles of Grayskull is one of the more fun developments in Masters of the Universe Origins in a long time. Taking a similar approach to the Masters of the WWE Universe series by blending two brands together, Mattel has brought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles characters to Eternia! Unlike the WWE MOTU toys, the Turtles are firmly in Universe with He-Man and the gang for some fun adventures. Thanks to a dimensional portal, the TMNT find their way to Eternia as does The Foot Clan and some of that pesky Mutagen Ooze.

This leads to TMNT characters styled as MOTU and mutated Masters! With a far out premise like this, it's only fitting that this group of Turtles are seemingly based on the late 80's/early 90's incarnation that's still my favorite era. It goes without saying this is a fun line of cool designs and radical concepts. I really like it.

Donatello here is my first of the figures and a pretty fun one at that. Since Donny is the brains of the crew, it's only natural that he's styled like Man-At-Arms. As a figure Donatello is best described as exactly what he is. A TMNT designed as a MOTU Origins figure. He's sized and articulated comparably to other Origins figures. It's really neat just how well this works. Being a mashup of designs, Donny's trademark Bo Staff is a combination of staff and Man-At-Arms's club. This whole hybrid of themes is just awesome and looks great. It feels more like a designer toy than a figure available at standard retail... which is something I've felt about MOTU Origins since the beginning. A neat feature with the Turtles is their shell can be removed and held a a shield. That's something so simple yet effective as a cool design choice. This is a silly concept that they've managed to pull off amazingly well. I'm all in.

Origins Jazz (Buzzworthy Bumblebee)

Like many folks, I was pretty excited when first seeing Origins Jazz announced online. Those cool Cybertronian forms from the opening scenes of More than Meets the Eye have stayed in the fandom lexicon since those olden days. Having these cool new toys of them is really neat. Jazz is a Buzzworthy Bumblebee release, meaning it's exclusive to Target stores here in the states. Normally it's pretty easy to get those, but not this time. I had firmly accepted that I wasn't ever going to find one until recently lucking stopping by Target for pasta. The didn't have the ravioli (seriously, it took 3 stores), but they did have an Origins Jazz.

This may be my favorite Jazz figure so far. I'm not just saying that because of the cool alt mode, or the elation of finally finding one, but it's just a really good figure. Jazz is like that, they seemingly improve each design as they go along. Considering the formula and regular updates to existing characters, that's great. I know that's the general idea... but it doesn't always work out. Jazz also looks similar to his Action Masters figure. I've always been pretty fond of that toy, so it's something I'd like overall.

Another neat feature is the weapons. Jazz has his standard Photon Rifle as well as a grappling hook. In transformation, fists are folded inwards. This provides a place to plug the grappling hook in similar to it's appearance on the show. There's even a winch on the left arm for it! The hook can also attach to the rifle so Jazz can fire it up high. I really like the inclusion of the hook, it's just a neat little extra they could have skipped and I wouldn't have noticed. It's inclusion is a fun little extra that frankly the rising cost of Transformers really should have. I'm paying more, I should get more. There's a difference between rising costs and gouging. They've been firmly in the latter lately.

Origins Jazz is an overall excellent figure. He has a ton of articulation and that dang grappling hook is a winner. Transformation is a little persnickety. It's not super hard or anything, but there's some points I found myself saying "come on dammit" or "aw dammit" and sometimes just plain "dammit". Ultimately, that's my only complaint with the toy. There's a few spots where you've got to get everything just right and I fumbled with it a little getting it there. Jazz's rifle can store on top of the car and it kinda looks like that's where it belongs. I really like this figure and wish he wasn't so hard to find. When he was announced it was a cool surprise as was finding it that day.

(Scare) Glowing with Evil

Scare Glow is one of those MOTU characters I just can't get enough of. Sure, I like scary things, but he's got a charm to him outside of that. In a line where the bad guys are usually pretty gnarly monsters... a freaking skeleton wearing a purple cape is just *chefs kiss*. If Skeletor wasn't already a grim reaper type. having an outright ghost in the Evil Warrirors is a great touch. Not to mention his awesome glow in the dark gimmick... I always fall for that. This Origins version of him was another of my Christmas gifts from the Mrs. She has a knack of getting the ones I can't normally find.

Scare Glow is your typical MOTU Origins figure, a complete update of a classic MOTUF figure with modern articulation and the interchangeable parts to allow for customizes easy access. He's compatible with vintage vehicles and newer ones. Origins is such a neat line. A key difference in other of his figures, Scare Glow has a plastic cape. The Original has cloth and the Masterverse has a mixture of plastic and cloth. I'm pointing this out mostly because it looks like cloth and feels like cloth... but is some sort of plastic/vinyl material. I do like it better than a cloth cape, but worry that it's additional weight will put too much strain on the string around the collar.

You guys know I'm hurting for it to be Halloween time (which it will firmly be in a few months, but still), so Scare Glow is just the toy for such a hankering. Just like the vintage toy, Origins Scare Glow is literally a Halloween decoration made into an action figure. I'm not being silly old me here, just look at this thing! Everything about just screams spooky season. He looks like something you'd pin to your hoodie in October (or December, yolo). While it may not reflect well in the picture, the Scythe of Doom's bright green is so bright, it might as well be the glow stick Scare Glow is carrying while trick or treating... aside from already glowing in the dark.

Land Shark

 

Somewhere within Skeletor's forces of Evil Warriors they got something right. Someone created the Land Shark. In a world terrorized by living Halloween decorations, somebody made a shark tank. A shark tank with a giant mouth that opened and closed. In the original cartoon the Land Shark was seemingly alive. A primitive robotic shark creature that lived to ride around and eat what it couldn't shoot. Or eat what it did shoot. Basically a death machine.

Outside of the cartoon, the Land Shark was just a vehicle that Skeletor used often in the mini comics. In Revelation, the Evil Warriors had a fleet of them, which was just great. Despite being totally ridiculous, it's also completely bad ass. If I described it to you, you'd probably laugh. However, if you saw it coming after you, you'd run in terror. Such is the weird world of Masters of the Universe. It's absurd, but in the most awesome way.

There's a new Origins toy I must get. I do have an original and the Hot Wheels mini. Something about a little die cast version of this horror show is impossible to ignore. I love the colors too. The purples and dark blue contrast nicely on the awesome look of it all. Something about a robotic shark tank being driven by a buff living skeleton is just so hard to express fully how awesome it is. I'm just in awe of it all.

Phony Baloney

Faker is another MOTU character I wasn't concenred with as a kid. He was just this oddball evil blue He-Man clone that wasn't given much focus. Not to mention, he pretty much flew under the radar. Honestly, I don't remember ever seeing his toy at the store. As an adult toy collector, I'm aware he was just case filler and the most blatant repaint in the line. Also as an adult, I fully recognize just how awesome he actually is. 

Depending on the fiction Faker is a robot either created by science or magic. I like the magic origins because it makes him seem like some weird Eternian Golem. This new toy follows the Origins model perfectly in that it's literally a blue He-Man with red hair and an orange Skeletor outfit. Of course there's the requisite sticker of all his circuitry. How else would you know he's a robot? He has the 'vintage' He-Man head that comes with some figures on the standard He-Man Origins body. There's a ton of articulation included with that. Of course he's sporting his orange take on Skeletor's outfit with a fake orange version of the Power Sword. There's a Powercon Exclusive version of Fake with a slightly different deco and Dupli-Cat. Dupli-Cat is his evil robot clone of Battle Cat. The pun based names never end... thankfully. It's hard not to like Faker, he's a Halloween colored evil robot clone of He-Man that relishes in it's ridiculousness. In the included mini-comic of this wave, it's shown that Skeletor has an army of Faker clones. There's not one fiber of my being that doesn't love that.

Target Sold Me Buzzworthy Toys Like This

I was fortunate enough to finally find the new Origins Bumblebee recently. Happily so as I've been looking for him for a while now. For those not in the know, this is part of the Target exclusive Buzzworthy Bumblebee line. It's a new mold representing Bumblebee as he first appeared in the original cartoon before coming to Earth. They put War For Cybertron trilogy logos on the box, obviously implying the toy is meant to be a part of that series. Somebody in marketing must have been trying to flex. Hasbro recently started hosting the original cartoon on their YouTube and it's currently available on Tubi. So this appearance is readily available to view for free if you're not familiar with it.

It's no secret that I'm a Bumblebee fan. He pops up often on this site enough for regular readers to know. Aside from some Bumblebee fatigue around 2008-2012 when he was a little too abundant, I've always loved the little guy. This is a good figure of him. Like I said, it's based on his pre-Earth first appearance in the original cartoon and it's a pretty good representation of that. Both modes look right and honestly I don't have anything negative to say about it. He's pleasantly articulated and the transformation was pretty easy. BB's sporting his laser pistol you saw him shoot at those Seekers before transforming in that first episode. It's black, not grey like on the cartoon. That's going to bother somebody for some reason.

BB is sold as a deluxe, but is pretty small. I'd argue a little smaller than his Netflix deluxe toy, but I think with the alt mode kibble, it's similar in mass. To fill out the price point and his box, they've included the jet pack he used in Dinobot Island. Also in the box is the energy conductors him and Wheeljack were stealing when he first appeared like this. He can't hold them, but he's got them. Like the Cheetor that I talked about this week, his box doesn't have cellophane. I'd take a second to check out the toy before buying one. I really like this toy. Not just because it's Bumblebee, but also because it's a good toy. Go get one.

Tri-Klops Saw It Coming... Or Didn't

When I think about Masters of the Universe... I usually don't think about Tri-Klops. Like Zodak, I mostly remember only seeing him at the odd drug store several years after he was released. Recently I got his Origins figure and really want the Mega Construx version which comes with the Battle Ram (I haven't found it yet). Somehow the lack of attention over time passed has made him more desirable. Admittedly it's a 'new to me' type situation. I did grab his 2002 version back then. So I guess I haven't totally ignored him over the years.

Tri-Klops's place in fiction pretty much varies on whomever is writing. In mini-comics and the original cartoon he was practically He-Man's equal (or an oaf), and in the 2002 series he was more of a mad scientist type. The classics version has him as a blind bounty hunter and his visor allows him to see. The visor is pretty much Tri-Klops trademark gimmick. Once again depending on the writer, it's either cybernetic or magical. Generally the visor gives him a variety of vision related special abilities. Seeing all around him, around corners, through things, great distances, optic blasts... you name it. Whatever the writer comes up to match the hunter/swordsman's abilities at the time.

Sometimes I wonder if Tri-Klops inspired Blade from the live action movie. They're pretty similar. Aside from the visor, the two aren't that different. Weirdly enough, in the Filmation series bible gave him a more interesting back story. Tri-Klops, Evil Lynn and Beastman were originally crew members on Queen Marlena's spaceship (she was an astronaut who crash landed on Eternia). They had mutated in the crash which somehow lead to them joining the Evil Warriors. This origin was abandoned. Probably because somebody realized the awkwardness of the Queen watching her son beat up former colleagues on a regular basis. "Go son, stomp a mud hole in his ass and walk it dry. He never paid me back for that Starbucks."

DDT Stands For The End

Masters of the WWE Universe is a weird toy line. I know I've talked about them before here, but it's one of those concepts I can't help but to describe each time. Are they wrestling figures or He-Man toys? 

Both. They're both. 

These are literally MOTU Origins toys with wrestlers as characters in an alternate timeline. I'd been really wanting to get a hold of the new Jake the Snake Roberts figure since learning about him. Jake is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time and I was instantly sold on him being in the MOTU ranks. Thankfully, the wife got me one for Christmas. Or as she said, she got me a weird old man toy.

Playing into his scary guy who carries around a snake gimmick, Jake is WWEternia's answer to King Hiss. In human form, Jake pretty much looks how you'd expect. With MOTU style armor decorated like his tights carrying his trademark snake. I'd like to think it's Lucifer, not Damien.

But remember, you can't trust a snake! By removing his armor and mask a reptilian freak is exposed! A reptilian freak with a mullet! I've mentioned a million times about how Masters of the Universe is a bunch of Halloween decorations. This is literally a toy of a person who removes his disguise to reveal a demonic true form. It's January, doesn't matter, trick or treat mother fuckers.

If you haven't gotten you hands on a MOTU Origins figure yet, let me explain one to you. Imagine all the charm of an original He-Man figure with modern day articulation. They're literally using Origins molds to make these with oddball WWE parts and whatever other stuff they have laying around. 

Jake might have the most original molding with his face mask and reptilian head. I'm sure the snake is from other figures. The armor is the same that came with Macho Man, but sans the additional chest plates for battle damage. I kind of wish he came with a weapon. The snake works, but a knife would have been perfect.

Jake is an obvious choice for a Snake Man on WWEternia. I really like the playing up of 'one with the darkness' into his overall presentation. Jake always seemed like that guy in a random episode of Tales from the Darkside. The shady dude in a silk shirt, cowboy boots, and was involved with a voodoo priest. Later who turns into a snake to kill the guy who wronged the voodoo priest. Or I guess that guy from the old PSA. Come to think about it, I always saw that during Tales from the Darkside. Dang.

A Weekend Of Happened

This past weekend was pretty low key, thankfully. I had gotten off Saturday morning and watched Tokushoutsu off and on while napping and waiting for the grocery order to arrive. Shortly after I went out to Target and Walmart to pick up a few other things we needed. High hopes for the new Hasbro MMPR Megazord at Target were dashed as they had a spot for the toys, but none in stock. Dammit. They did have one more of the Cyberverse Tiny Turbo Changers I've been hunting for and Chewbacca from Star Wars Mission Fleet. Those and some Baby Yoda stuff were grabbed for the wife.

Walmart still didn't have anything new on the TF front aside from the mountains of Netflix stuff. I'm getting strong early 2004 vibes from the over ordered waves of toys. Oh well, they'll crowbar the new stuff in when it comes. New Micromasters have been popping up and I never have trouble finding those at Target. Hopefully those will end up in my possession soon. Ghostbusters stock was still wiped out, though the Real Ghostbusters shelf tags are still in place. Hope I can get that Ray and Winston soon. Same amount of GI JOE, soon I'll be grabbing those. Admittedly I'm letting the rush slow down a bit so I can get the ones I want.

Walmart finally put out some Masters of the Universe stuff! Some! While they didn't bother with any WWE MOTU, there was a bunch of Skeletor, Battle Cat, and Sky Sleds. I would have gotten a Skeletor, but they did have a full shelf box of Eternia Minis. Since folks are buying the entire case of at a time, so I decided to go ahead and buy a complete set of series 1 while I had a chance. Next week I'll get regular MOTU if it's in stock.

Right now the stuff is pretty limited for it's run as a Walmart exclusive line, so it'll be easier to get next year when it's everywhere. I'm trying to be patient as I can, but seeing dudes clear out stores in groups is a little piss offy. It might be first come, first serve. But it's also a free market and I have a little problem buying from third party sellers. Karma mofo.

Power-Con was also this weekend and since the pandemic and all, they did a free online version like other cons. This would have been awesome if not that it was done exclusively through Zoom without replays available. Between the time difference from Georgia and California, the panels I was most interested in was on while I was getting some sleep. Without the video put up for later viewing like other cons, I couldn't watch it later like with KaijuCon.Line. Considering it was a free, I'm not complaining. Just wished I could have taken part in it. I did though read the news and am pretty excited for the stuff coming for MOTU.

The rest of the weekend was spent with a little room organizing and watching movies on Netflix. Hopefully I'll have my room somewhere near were I want it within the next few weeks. While I just moved in the middle of June and work on it's taken a backseat to more important things, I'd also like to be done with that project. Admittedly parts of it will always be in flux. Some Halloween planning was also done and man, the kids in our new neighborhood are going to love us.

Running Wild On Rattlesnake Mountain

I had totally assumed Masters of the WWE Universe was going to end when MOTU Origins started, but here I am being wrong and happy about it. Previews of the new Rattlesnake Mountain set have been popping up on various toy news sites and let me tell you something brother, I want it. My luck with the line has been pretty spotty unfortunately. So far I haven't been able to find anything past wave one. Which is pretty disappointing as I've really wanted figures like Macho Man and The Undertaker.

I'm hoping this set will be like the Grayskull Mania bundle from last Christmas. They were pretty easy to find and hung around for awhile. You can get a Greyskull ring no problem, but the set with Terror Claws Triple H and John Cena was only around then. It just makes sense that this would be on a pallet for the holiday season. Give me a hell yeah. The theming of a Snake Men Stone Cold to match one of his shirts vs. Hulk Hogan as early He-Man is pretty great. And that's the bottom line, because Stone Cold Rob said so.
