Mini-Puft Figure Mania
Because Ghostbusters: Afterlife dropped an awesome bomb on the world, it was revealed that Hasbro would be selling new blind packed mini figures of the new Mini-Pufts this fall! They'll be blind packed in containers of Stay Puft marshmallow cream (trying making a fluffernutter with this goo). The little guys will be hidden inside the 'goopy marshmallow-like compound'.
Hopefully the 'compound' won't be as sticky as the ectoplasm in the slime tubes from 2019. Combining these with the new Ecto-Plasm and Ecto-Plasm Ghost Gushers and I've got a lot of slime to dig through soon. I'm not complaining though, it's gonna be great! Hope I don't get any on the carpet.

Stay Puft Temper Tantrum
Stay Puft doesn't have a ton of articulation. You can move his arms and twist wrists. For some reason his top half can rock sideways at the hips. It doesn't serve a purpose, but it is fun to bop back and forth. It's like they intended a child to play with it or something. The main feature is a face changing gimmick. With a push of the button atop a marshmallow man's head, the face of the destructor changes from happy to angry.
Doing this is literally hypnotic. His mood swings are far more entertaining than they have any right to be. One minute he's sweet and asking for you to donate to his patreon. The next he's pissed off that you wouldn't and told him to get a job. You've got some nerve. This is a great figure and fun to play around with. He matches pretty well with whatever set of Ghostbusters figures you pair him with. Seeing as Afterlife was recently moved to a November release from a Summer release, I expect (hope) the toys to start hitting stores sometime soon.
Stay Puft has a figure in the upcoming Fright Features line (a spiritual follow up to The Real Ghostbusters toys) but I can see this toy being intended to pair with those as well. It's generally with the other GB action figures and not the Playskool toys on store shelves. Even if he's an odd marshmallow man out among the other toys, it's a fun toy to play around with. Who thought mood changes could be so fun?

Stay Puft, Ponyboy, Stay Puft
I picked up the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man figure from Hasbro's 'vintage' The Real Ghostbusters line this weekend. Just 3 more toys and I've got them all. I would say I hope they continue, but I already talked about that and what they're seemingly doing and I'm pretty ok with that. I already was into Fright Features figures because they were similar to the old Kenner toys before learning of the 'vintage' line. Though, I really just want to talk about Stay Puft for a moment.
There's something appealing about this absurd monster made of marshmallows. He's this big, cute, and non-threatening guy who's the physical embodiment of Gozer generally hellbent on destruction. He made a face turn in The Real Ghostbusters, but for most media, he's a villain. He's a giant physical paranormal manifestation. The realness of the shit isn't in dispute when he shows up. Also, totes adorbs.
In the 2016 move he was a parade balloon possessed by a ghost. I thought that was pretty great. Despite the movies flaws, the big end battle was pretty dang cool. After a lifetime of watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade, I associate such things with Time Square. A ghost parade? Right on. Stay Puft was completely threatening here, that was rad.
It's kinda hard not to like Stay Puft. He's silly, scary, cute, spooky and cuddly in a evil way. Part of me can't help to overthink a bit. The Real Ghostbusters are supposed to be the actual (you know, real) team that the movies are based on fictionally. I'd love to see a big budget movie adaption of the dream manifestation Stay Puft. Who wouldn't want to see that face turn at the movies?
