It's Monday Worldwide

Hello Zone Base readers and thank you for returning for another week of robots, monsters, and misadventure! I hope you all had a great weekend... mine was over much too fast! Thanks for nothing Daylight Savings Time. We have to adjust our schedules and loose an hour to save electricity all while the lights are on in our workplace regardless! I enjoyed weekly shopping with the Mrs where we made plans for various things to purchase for the house. Sunday was a rainy day filled with cleaning and laundry in between cursing daylight savings time (I seriously hate it).

I played some video games and watched a lot of paranormal tv and Mystery Science Theater 3000. Speaking of video games, the new Evercade update includes a neat game of the month feature. Each month they'll highlight a game from one of their releases that's free to play for the month without needing the cartridge. That's pretty great, the first is Midnight Resistance! It's the Genesis version, which is great as it's much more playable on a console that emulation of the arcade version. I actually have the arcade version on a micro console. The original arcade game usues a rotating joy stick to aim which just doesn't translate well. You either push one button or another to rotate your aim all while getting slaughtered by enemies. The console version resolves this issue with an auto fire that can be locked in a direction. That works so much better!

As for toys, well I didn't get much this weekend. Stores are still a little barren around here and with my birthday and Toylanta around the corner. I just didn't feel like buying anything. I picked up another Hot Wheel Transformer, this one obviously intended to be a dune buggy variation of Bumblebee and the Voltron Bitty Bop. It comes with a cool Shiro Bitty Pop to pilot it. Such a neat little gimmick. There's a Hulkbuster one out that I'm not interested in, so I may be done with them for the time being. I think there's a Baymax out, that's a must get.

You know something Zone Base readers, I'm watching the 2007 Transformers movie while writing this. It's randomly on the Miramax Channel on Prime Video and... dang. It's pretty fun. I know the live action movies (especially the Michael Bay ones) get a lot of derision... but they were huge and changed everything ever since. I still remember attending the BotCon 2007 early showing and watching it for the first time with some friends. While my opinions vary with the various sequels,  I still like the movie universe setting. One thing that's sticking out in my mind is all the criticism that there's hardly any Transformers in the movie, yet here I am watching it and they're all over this thing. It's a lot of fun.

Well, I've got a busy week ahead of me. I'm enjoying a brief break between the medical procedures I've been driving My Mom to the past few weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to get a new Transform Squadron recorded and out soon. In the meantime I've got some toys to take pictures of for upcoming posts. I plan on getting back to the Beast Alliance Transformers from Rise of the Beasts and finishing my look at that series. The upcoming Transformers Wild King has my interest and it feels like the perfect time to finish those toys on the site. I also want to cover more BeastBox and vintage Gobots. There's a good 2 week lead time on posts, so stay tuned to see what's next. Thank you all for reading. Zone Base is just some small silly site, but seeing all of you come out each week is really amazing. Thank you all. Please share the site with your friends and Mutual High Fives everyone!

A Monday is You!

A new week has begun on Planet Zone and a bunch of fun content coming your way! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was good. Enjoyed some rest and grocery store sushi while watching 1000lbs Sisters and paranormal TV. We did our weekly shopping which lead to a few toy pick ups. Gamer Edition Optimus Prime was found at Target. Walmart had the GXK Kong vs Skar King 2 pack and some neat Hollow Earth crystal blind packs (also from GxK). I bought one on a whim and got Skar King!

We later stopped at Five Below for a Squishmallow drop and I got the entire set of GXK Jada Metalfigs. I had been slowly getting them from Walmart, but discovered the Five Below sets were not keychains. So I bought all 4. Not sure why there is or isn't a keychain attached depending on store, weird. Also picked up a Super Mario Bros bag clip figure blind bag from the new series and got Bullet Bill! The Mrs earlier in the week picked up the rest of the Transformers Jada Metalfig mini figures and some neat mini TF plush toys for me. Somehow I managed to bring lots of fun stuff. Even picked up a neat monster survival guide book from Five Below.

Well, enough about that, let's get this week started! I've got a fun week in store for all of you. Thank you so much for reading Zone Base. If you like what I'm doing, thanks! Don't worry, I'm not asking for money (that's gross isn't it?). All I ask is that you share the site with your friends. Zone Base isn't about capitalizing on others, just enjoying cool stuff. If you know anyone that might like the cool stuff I talk about, then hey... let them in on it. Mutal high fives all around!

What The WWF

These day's I'm mainly an AEW fan, but back in the day I would switch the channel between WWF and WCW basking in the glory of both companies. The wrestling video games during that time were pretty great as well. I vastly preferred WWF Superstars and WWF WrestleFest in the arcades, but they were long gone by the time WWF Wrestlemania hit my local arcades in 1995. When the home console versions came out, my Genesis found itself occupied with the likes of Lex Luger and The Undertaker. It was a good time. Something I was able to do at home that I couldn't at the arcade was beat the game... and that's what we're here for today. Brace yourselves.

A Six Pack of Whoop Ass for Christmas

Nothing says Christmas like throwing a burly man through a table. It's not uncommon for wrestling promotions to put on a Christmas show, I mean... it's a good time to take advantage of most folks retiring for the night in front of the TV. And bam, there's a redneck in a Santa outfit kicking somebody in the junk in front of an audience. I don't think you even have to like wrestling to appreciate the artistry of Christmas time wrasslin.

Pro Wrasslin

I often find myself wishing for a sequel to this amazing game. Spiritually, the Fire Pro Wrestling games are follow ups as the programmer went on to work on those. Though there's no official sequel. I want to see what happened to the gang and what all new roster came into the promotion. It's pretty important that I find out.
