I love donuts. When I've had a hard night at work, stopping by my local Frazier's for a Mountain Dew Zero and a donut is just the thing. Big chain, local joint, or even a grocery store bakery. I don't care where it's from. I love 'em. Of course special occasions are extra fun and most donut places do something awesome for the spooky season. It warms my heart remembering those old visits to Dunkin Donuts and getting a dozen of their annual Halloween donuts. I often find myself wishing that I had access to cool things from Japan. Like these awesome Halloween donuts from Mr. Donuts. Just look at that damn jack o' lantern one. I'd be just right with a warm cup of pumpkin spice.

Headless like a Hole
Dunkin Donuts at one time was the absolute jam at Halloween. Sadly, in their current state of being a poor mans Starbucks... they've lost their way a bit. Sure, they still have some fun Halloween offerings. It's just nowhere as great as it once was. Regardless... man... is there no better snack on Halloween than a spooky donut? Specially when coming from a seasonal box with orange, purple, and green food coloring run rampant! Though... you should probably consider eating when deciding on a costume.

Springoween
It's firmly the middle of April and spring is full steam ahead. Just look at all that damn pollen! It's officially 108 days until the start of the spooky season (August 1st) and 198 days until Halloween. To be fair, I'm not counting in the first trickling of Halloween I normally start seeing in June into the equation. Nor the various product catalogs for this years offerings that I've been looking through since January... *ahem*. THE CLOCK IS TICKING. Oh hey look, donuts! That's another of my five billion Halloween traditions, I get spooky donuts every year!

More Orange Sprinkles
A Halloween tradition of mine each year is getting some spooky ass donuts. I usually prefer Dunkin' Donuts for this trip, but latley my local Dunkin' has been a complete let down in this department. I don't know if it's a chain thing or just incompetence on the behalf of that particular store, but regardless, it's the worst.
Ever since I was a kid, Halloween Dunkin' Donuts has been a favorite of mine. I've mentioned before there's something about artificial flavoring that I can taste... and I'm not kidding. Something about weird colored foods usually tastes better to me. Not to mention, Dunkin' makes really good donuts. So good, that used to be the name of the store. But Dunkin' Halloween donuts? Exquisite.
Thankfully, Krispy Kreme has stepped up their game in recent years with an annual Halloween pack of donuts. Though I did just move and that new nearby Dunkin' might be worth a gamble on. Hopefully they'll not disappoint. Those Krispy Kreme ones are great, but man, don't forget the werewolf.
