It's a new week here on Planet Zone! I had a pretty good weekend. Helped my Mom put up her Christmas decorations. Putting lights up outside is so fun I do it at two different places! The Mrs surprised me with a super neat Advent Calendar that I'm looking forward to working through. Speaking of the Mrs, we went to Five Below Sunday for a Squishmallow event. There wasn't much there she didn't already have, but we still got a few. I grabbed a Treasure X Monsters while I was there. I haven't had time to open it, but you can be sure it's awesome. I've got a fun week in mind here on the site. Thank you for your continued support and please share with your friends!

There's gold in that Coffin

This past weekend the wife and I exchanged spooky gift bags. A tradition of ours during the Halloween season for a little extra fun. She put a mini monster and a monster coffin in mine with some other spooky treats. Treasure X is such a neat line, she usually includes some in most gifts for me. It's hard not to like... for me anyway. The mini monster is a basic sized figure in a small coffin. Inside the coffin is a spider-webbed bag full of floam intended to be the spider webs and eggs. diffing through the stuff finds various parts. Once freed from it's sticky tomb, you've got your hunter and treasure! I got Invisibling (pictured above) and the gold spider! First pull and I got the rare treasure! It's name is Bling Back Spider btw.
The monster coffin is a more involved affair. It's much larger and a lot more messy (check out the commercial below). First off you take the attached crowbar off the coffin lid to open everything up. Under is a spiderweb bag full of floam containing monster eyes and a bug. Also are two packets of potion and a suction cup. That's all sitting on a removable tray. The tray is sitting on a paper spider web layer. Mix the two packets of potion in a cup of water and pour it on the spider web paper. After a minute of fizzing and bubbling the monster inside the coffin RISES UP! I got Count Goldula, a blue rockabilly vampire. There's also a specimen jar containing a brain.
Remove the monster from his coffin, take the crowbar, and BASH HIS HEAD IN. No really, you straight up break his head open. Inside is... THE TREASURE! I got another Blingback Spider! Two rares in a row. Neat! Afterwards, the brain from the specimen jar goes inside the head now acting as a button to open the monsters jaws. The jar is now where the hard won treasure is to be displayed. That suction cup from earlier? It attaches to the lever inside the coffin to reuse for later rising from your tomb action. Those eyes? Stick them in the monsters head. What if you get multiples? The figures (both large and small) can exchange parts for new monster creation! It's encouraged in the pamphlet! Exclamation point!
There's also an extra big lab set with even more to do, it's in the video below. Treasure X has a way of turning blind bag toys into a game and that's pretty fun. The new Monster Gold series is just the right thing for a Halloween party. I know with the pandemic lot's of folks are still nervous taking their kids out trick or treating, I can see a Monster Coffin set providing some spooky fun over some webcam Halloween parties. It's a combination of Mad Scientist and blind bag that I never saw coming. Man, what if they made...

I Did Stuff This Weekend
This weekend was a holiday weekend. Well, the holiday was on Saturday. So I had Friday off in observance. It was nice to get some rest after such a hectic and busy month. Between cooking out Saturday on our back patio and enjoying stretching out on our new living room set, we also got some stuff done around the house. We made a visit to At Home and Joann's to see what Halloween stock they had. Joann's just had some cloth (which some was purchased), but At Home had really added much more since last weekend. My Instagram has pics if you're so inclined to check them out.
Saturday night I began work on my new toy room, which mainly meant repairing my old shelves and doing some organizing. Next weekend I'll start working which toys will go on said shelves and rearranging the mass of storage totes I have in our garage. There's a few thousand Transformers in those totes and it's a considerable effort to try and keep some semblance of organization. That's not including kaiju, keshi, mini figures and other toys. So I've got a bit of work ahead of me.
I did get together my little micro console set up. I plan to spend a good bit of time parked in front of that set up, so considerable effort was made to get it just right. I'll probably readjust it a billion times, but I've got a start. Various pictures were hung with help of the wife for second opinions on placement. I'm trying to keep it reasonably nice looking in there and not just a pile of toys and video games. So taking some extra time and getting second opinions are definitely appreciated.
Over the course of the weekend I got a few toys. I picked up Destroyah from Playmates Godzilla and Kong line. A Treasure X Alien Egg from Five Below, and a Scout Class Cyberverse Ratchet while waiting for my order at a Rose's near Little Caesars. I eyed a Netflix Sideswipe and Megatron at Walmart and I most assuredly need to pick those guys up soon. I just like Sideswipe, always have, always will. So a new toy of him is something I'll eventually pick up. I like Siege Megatron, but really it's the Battlemasters that's pulling the trigger there. I kinda want the new Seeker for the same reasons, but Megatron's included are just much more interesting.

Grossery Gang
I bought one pack in the 'Flush and Fizz' packaging for my first experience with these little guys. The 'Flush and Fizz' packaging is a fun play on the fizzy based blind packaging. The toys are inside a plastic toilet, with a funnel (part of the packaging) you pour water in the back tank until the fizz bubbles (it looks like pee) away and reveals your toys. There's other types of packaging available for the toys like standard blind bags, multi-packs, and such... buy the toilet was hard not to love. Not to mention, the figures themselves are great little rubber weirdos.
Being a recent purchase, the pack I bought was part of the 'Time Wars' series. Which is the fifth and allegedly final series of the line. I don't know if they plan on a new line in the same vein or what. Either way, Grossery Gang is fairly plentiful so buying a few more shouldn't be any trouble before they disappear. I kind of regret not buying more in the past as I'm pretty happy with the pack I got. With such a popular series of figures, I can only imagine something is slated to follow. Though I've noticed they are made by Moose, the same company that makes Treasure X (I've talked about this neat series on Transform Squadron). Treasure X has been increasing their product range, so maybe between that and the range of more gross blind bag toys on the shelves is the reasoning being Grossery Gang stopping (for now anyway).
