It's time to get the week started Zone Base readers! I hope everyone had a great weekend, I sure did. To celebrate the Mrs's birthday, I took her shopping and we enjoyed dinner at Medieval Times. We got some fun stuff from Teso and Miniso and had an all around great time. We were exhausted Sunday, so it was spent napping, watching TV, playing video games, and enjoying chilli the Mrs made in the crock pot.
I managed to get some great stuff. The Mrs picked up MOTU Origins Snake Face for me Friday. Saturday during our shopping trip, I got several Japanese Transformers school supplies. I also got some great Ultraman and Demon Slayer keshi. Godzilla and Ultraman sofubi was purchased (who would have thought Miniso sold kaiju toys?). I also picked up an SD Gundam model and Shin-Chan blind box.
We made a visit to the 52toys store where I bought some BeastBox toys and a Stranger Hands blind box. I got the vampire hand! I played some more of the Halloween game Sunday and as much as I enjoy it... that is one frustrating game. I was all too happy to buy it last October... but still am only halfway through thanks to getting angry and not playing for weeks. Speaking of Halloween, our first spooky season decorations were gifted to us during the week. Considering it's January, we're right on schedule! Well, it's time to get this new week started. Dammit, it's Monday again. Let's all pour one out for another weekend gone. I spent mine taking the Mrs out for her birthday. We spent all Saturday taking in a bunch shops like Teso Life, Tokyo Kuma, and other similar shops. I bought her a bunch of fun stuff like Sanrio, stationary, treats, plushies, and other things she likes. It was a good time. I did pick up a few things for myself while out. Got 2 Popmart Transformers blind figures. Starscream and Galvatron. Galvatron came with a arm for the Devastator build-a-figure. Also picked up a BeastBox Jonsen. This was a limited edition version in unique colors and accessories. Neat! I also picked up a Chin Chan blind box, some Bikkuriman stickers, Demon Slayer, Hone Hone Zaurus, Ultraman, Gundam, Mario, and other goodies!

Tomorrow may be the spookiest day of the year, but today is the most evil day of the week. Monday! I hope everyone had a fun Halloweekend, I sure did. We carved pumpkins, had spooky spaghetti, and watched creepy TV including the new Five Nights at Freddy's movie. It's hard to believe the spooky season is almost over, but let's end it with a bang!
I found some fun stuff while doing our weekly shopping. I went to Ross hoping to luck up on some of the Transformers finds folks have been having. While no Generations were there I needed, there was some Autobots Unite packs! I'd hoped to find these and got Bumblebee, Megatron, and Battletrap. Hopefully I can find the rest. Long time readers know how much fun I had with the Energon Igniters toys from the Bumblebee movie and these are those same molds!
Not to be outdone by returning favorites is another bit of older Zone Base favorites! I got some Botbots! Clearly Ross had some fun in store for me! Hopefully future visits will provide more of that fun. Still no Troop Builder box set at Target, but I did find a One Step Flipchanger Twitch. Now the Flipchanger ranks are complete until a new wave is unleashed upon the world and my wallet. I also grabbed The Bandai Ultimate Legends HD Zenitsu figure. I needed him to complete my set of Demon Slayer figures from that line.
Did everyone enjoy the new episode of Transform Squadron? Monster Gobots seemed like a fun way to round out the spooky season! It's Monday yet again... bleah. However It's the Monday before a holiday weekend. That's right, next weekend is a 3 day holiday weekend. Meaning this will be a pretty hard week, but don't worry, Zone Base will be here to help you navigate your way through the next few days. I hope everyone is enjoying the Halloween posts. It's a lot of fun to post them and this year looks like it'll be quite the spooky season. I was happy to see my local Target, Walmart, and Dollar Tree stores starting to stock for the season.
Speaking of the season, I can't wait for the weather to cool down. It's been a very hot summer and these 100 degree days are the worst! I picked up a new light hoodie to wear when the weather cools down in anticipation of the joyous event. My light hoodie is something I'll wear almost all year, even in the summer on a rainy day, so getting a new one every so often is a big deal to me. As far as toys go I got a few cool ones.
There was still no new Toxitron collection Transformers to be found this week. I found ones I already have, but not the ones needed. Ggrrr. I did manage to find new Beast Alliance! Beast Combiner Scourge with Scorponok! Hooray! I'm honestly sad to see Beast Alliance wind down, hopefully the rest of the figures will be easy to find. I also completed my Mutant Mayhem TMNT figures with Leonardo. Super cool. I got some great blind bag figures. A Sonic Prime Knuckles and Demon Slayer Hashira whose name I've currently forgotten. I got a Bakugan 3.0 Dragonoid in a wonderful translucent white.
Target had some great Halloween wind up figures that I was excited to find as well as a cool vampire skeleton purchased at Kroger. That Demon Slayer gatcha I talked about earlier was bought at Party City. We were checking out the incoming Halloween stock and picked up some spooky paper plates. They had a specifically awesome set of Disney Villains paperware in black light colors. Guys, it has the Horned King on them. This is truly going to be an epic Halloween.
A lot of time at home was spent playing old video games while watching Transformers and Super Sentai. I almost forgot to mention the Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron Razorcrest I picked up for $15. I hadn't gotten one yet and there it was on clearance. Awesome. There's new multi packs coming in Micro Galaxy Squadron for your Inchman needs and mine. Oh hey... it's Monday. Thanks for coming back for another week here on Planet Zone! Beast Summer is in full swing and I can see it's going well. I hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was certainly restful. In fact, I think I got more sleep in the past few days than the entire week before. Plenty of gaming was had. Specifically Run Saber for SNES, Cotton for Neo Geo Pocket, and Magical Chase for Turbograpx 16 were enjoyed. I guess sci fi action platformers and witchy cute em' ups were on the menu. Plenty of paranormal TV was watched as well as the debut episode of AEW Collision, a new Saturday night wrestling show from my preferred company.
The wrestling provided a great match for some school lunchroom style pizza from a local grocery store. Just right for a Saturday cheat meal. Sunday was Father's day and even though I don't have human children, apparently our furry ones got me a great suprise (according to the Mrs). A new lunchbox for work and some toys. Studio Series Battletrap and Cheetor from ROTB (which we all recently enjoyed) and some Bandai Ultimate Legends Demon Slayer figures. Tanjiro and Inosuke! I also ordered the new Battle Tribes drop. This drop is a great Micronauts themed set. I got the three new figures and am super pumped looking forward to their arrival.
It's summer and you know what that means? CODE ORANGE! The past few weeks I've seen a lot of folks finding great early releases from their local At Home, Old Time Pottery, and Hobby Lobby. Myself I've seen some bleeding candles about two weeks ago, and some gargoyles last weekend after ROTB. I didn't look this weekend just to give the store some time. I did see plenty of folks on YouTube showing off theirs including some early Dollar Tree finds! My stores tend to really get in the mood around July so there's no point in getting to excited yet, but I am anyway. Halloween is almost here Zone Base readers and I've been at work preparing for the Pumpkin Spiced Mayhem starting in August. For all of you enjoying Beast Summer, don't worry I got your back. 2023 will be Beastly Halloween on Planet Zone! What's that mean? Well, you'll see.

I did some shopping this weekend and finally saw Guardians of the Galaxy 3. Trips to Costco, Walmart, and Target were had. I got Rise of the Beasts mainline Rhinox and Beast Changer Mirage as well as Studio Series core class Ironhide. Not to mention a Great Posing Figure Demon Slayer gatchapon blind bag (Inosuke!). A new week has arrived on Planet Zone! I could have used more of the weekend, but such is life. It was the Mrs's birthday, so I spent it taking her shopping and generally spoiling her. I also got in the new episode of 1000lbs Sisters and some Junji Ito Maniac on Netflix watched. Speaking of, the new season of Demon Slayer is finally on Netflix and I've been patiently for it. Sure it's been on other services, but I'm not paying for another streaming app. I did manage to get a few things for myself even though I wasn'tplanning on it. I picked up EarthSpark Deluxe Megatron, two Micro Galaxy Squadron blind boxes, and Nova Pegatrix from Bakugan Legends. I was pleasantly gifed a DK-2 Guard, the Transformers Generations Selects toy from my mother. Woo-hoo surprise Diaclone! I've got a fun week in store for you all. Thanks for supporting Zone Base. You may hate Mondays, but hopefully you won't hate the start of a new week on Planet Zone! This weekend went by fast, but I managed to have a good bit of fun. Saturday shopping resulted in myself finding the new Optimus Primal from the newer Rescue Bots style Transformers toys. I've been wanting to get that guy. Super Impulse has apparently started putting the Micro Action Figures I so enjoy in blind packs with miniture comic reprints. The comics are full sized issues at a micro size, they even come with magnifying glasses to read them with. I got Snake Eyes, Bumblebee, and Starscream in the three bought. They're the same price as the normal carded versions too! I've been trying to get the new ones of these, so that was a nice surprise.
I'd lucked up and found the new Toho series Shin Godzilla by Playmates. Been really hankering for new ones of these as well. Hopefully I can score the rest of the new figures soon. Target had Motormaster, but I held off for now. I'm trying to keep my toy budget under a certain number for now and he can be ordered later. Wonder if I can order Siege Jetfire? Missed out on that one. The Mrs wants me to make a Christmas list after all. A stop by At Home resulted in my early Halloween tradition of a $1 plastic skeleton and a skeleton dragon. Not sure how many more skeleton animals I'll get this season, but sure to get a few more. They pair so well with Battle Tribes and MOTU.
Saturday night, the Mrs and I took a late night road trip to a Loves Truck stop. There's an exclusive Squishmallow there and it was a great night drive to find one. We didn't find the toy, but I do love a late night drive down a rural back road. We're planning to go to another next weekend, but I do see a Five Below event is next weekend. Guess we'll see. We also got new Crocs. The Mrs had been wanting a new pair and I'm not going to pretend I didn't mind a new pair either. We got some Jibbitz and ordered a few more. We plan to buy 2 each every weekend. Jibbitz are cheap, but the shipping can add up fast!
Sunday, well I slept in and laid around a lot. Obon and Hungry Ghost Festival was this weekend. I stayed up pretty late enjoying paranormal television and that late night drive (listening to ghost stories the entire time) meant for a sleepy Sunday. 60+ hour work weeks can be hard as well. I did manage to assemble 2 Zoids and get started on a Demon Slayer model by Bandai though. I'd do more today, but I got the feeling some video games and napping before work tonight is more on the schedule. The weather is starting to change and that always makes me super sleepy. Here in my homestate, it's very hot during the day and pretty cool at night in August. That makes for a sleepy Rob.
I've got a fun week planned for you readers. I hope everyone is enjoying Halloween so far. We've got quite a bit of it left, but not quite enough for my liking. This weekend went by way to fast for my liking. I didn't do much, but managed to find Legacy Blitzwing during a trip to Walmart Saturday. Tried Morning Star vegetarian chicken nuggets and they were great! The rest of Saturday was spent watching paranormal videos and Jetman. Not bad!
Sunday was a Squishmallow event at Five Below. Before the event I played some Demon Slayer on my PS4 while enjoying a bagel and iced coffee. The Mrs found the Squishmallows she was looking for as well as a new plush line the same company had released. I got a new light box for my TikTok/Reels. I can't find my light tent and have been using a temporary solution. So this will be an upgrade in the meantime.
My little videos are still small, but people seem to be liking them. I'm learning as I go, and they're slowly getting better. Think a light ring may be in my future. I also got volume 3 of the Attack on Titan manga. I've gotten the first two at Five Below and it's looking like that's how I'll keep doing it. No problems there! I spent the rest of the day napping, watching spooky stuff, and playing with my Gundam Infinity figures. Still haven't found series 2, but the first batch is a lot of fun. The idea is to disassemble them and mix the parts. So while they're not models, you can still build a cool new Gundam!
I've got a dentist appointment in the morning to start getting some chipped teeth fixed. I'm looking forward to getting them fixed, but not the appointment. Just don't care for the dentist. It's Monday and you know what that means! It's a new week here on Planet Zone! Speaking of a new week... where the hell did the weekend go? Friday morning I went to Target for the new Pokémon game for the Mrs. While there I found Kingdom Slammer and Pipes. The Toei Spider-Man Hot Wheel was also there. Been looking for that one. Still no Studio Series Soundwave. That's now autofilling itself out.
Saturday was spent mostly in bed until the afternoon when the Mrs and I went to Five Below. There I found a neat Stranger Things field guide and grabbed a Siege Firedrive to give Studio Series Hot Rod. The Mrs pointed out neat plush Mario and Luigi bag clips that I also picked up. A bottle of Ramune was also bought as I've been craving it lately. We then took my mother grocery shopping before ordering food and watching this weeks Mandelorian and 1000 lbs Sisters.
Sunday was mostly spent playing Demon Slayer on my PS4 while the Mrs played that new Pokémon game. For dinner Mom came over and the Mrs made low sodium tacos! I helped set up Mom's new Chromebook we had gotten her for Christmas (she apparently hadn't herself yet).
The weekend's over though and time to enjoy my Monday before heading into work tonight. Did you all enjoy the new episode of Transform Squadron? I'd been planning to do it since December. It's the first Monday of the new year and you know what that means Zone Base readers. It's a new week here on Planet Zone! The first one of 2022! Dang! I hope you all had a good holiday weekend, I sure did. Between putting away Christmas decorations and some household chores, I found some time to relax and unwind. Played some video games, played with some toys, watched paranormal shows on Discovery Plus, and binged episodes of 1000 lb Sisters. Which might also qualify as a paranormal show.
Honestly, New Years isn't a big deal to the Mrs and myself. We generally just get something to eat and catch the countdown on TV come midnight. I had some great sushi from our local favorite Japanese restaurant. Not a bad way to ring in the new year if you ask me. Even wore my new Demon Slayer pants!
Over the holidays the toy backlog got a lot added to it. So you never know what toy based posts I'll do here. Something new, something I haven't opened yet, or something old I just wanted to talk about. Admittedly the posts can be a bit random here, but hey, I always say variety is the spice of life. It's a new week here on Planet Zone and one week closer to Christmas! I don't know about you guy's, but Christmas time is a strange flavor of chaotic for me. Between the shopping and holiday gatherings while still working and living my normal life, it's a stressful yet fun time of the year. Though on Christmas Eve, there's a peaceful calm that's never replicated any other time of the year. I spent most of this weekend shopping for gifts as well as another Sunday Squishmallow event at Five Below for the wife (they're practically having one every weekend lately) before having Mom over for dinner that night. Sunday was my Mom's birthday and she turned 70!
We had a wonderful pot roast the Mrs cooked in the crock pot and some cake while watching various Muppets Christmas specials. Mom brought me a Mega Construx MOTU Skeletor head she had grabbed while out. It's the Fisto set, I already have it, but welcome the extra parts. Whenever Mom finds them in the clearance aisle she grabs them for me. I've got a couple extra figures by her doing that which provides excellent extra parts for future use.
While out I did manage to find some if the new Final Faction toys. I got all the new figures, just need the Arrow ATV and new accessorie sets to be caught up. I never thought something like a cheap dollar store toy line would be as popular as it is. Pretty cool to discover something like that on launch as well. Neat. Fun fact, the guy who designed the figures works for Super 7 now. I happen to think very highly of them and happy to see that merging of things I like. This year I missed out on the Lego Star Wars Advent calendar.
Bummer, but in it's place the Mrs gave me a different kind of toy calendar. The Microbots Advent! These are small block kit robots that are a merge team. There's various sets available, mine is a dinosaur team vs a car team. It's a 12 day Advent Calendar, so I'm just now starting to feature it on my social media. That Instagram of mine is going to be a pretty neat place for a while! Well, I've got some household chores to do in between a little toy pics for this week on the site. Better get to work!
