Initializing New Week

It's time to get the week started Zone Base readers! I hope everyone had a great weekend, I sure did. To celebrate the Mrs's birthday, I took her shopping and we enjoyed dinner at Medieval Times. We got some fun stuff from Teso and Miniso and had an all around great time. We were exhausted Sunday, so it was spent napping, watching TV, playing video games, and enjoying chilli the Mrs made in the crock pot.

I managed to get some great stuff. The Mrs picked up MOTU Origins Snake Face for me Friday. Saturday during our shopping trip, I got several Japanese Transformers school supplies. I also got some great Ultraman and Demon Slayer keshi. Godzilla and Ultraman sofubi was purchased (who would have thought Miniso sold kaiju toys?). I also picked up an SD Gundam model and Shin-Chan blind box.

We made a visit to the 52toys store where I bought some BeastBox toys and a Stranger Hands blind box. I got the vampire hand! I played some more of the Halloween game Sunday and as much as I enjoy it... that is one frustrating game. I was all too happy to buy it last October... but still am only halfway through thanks to getting angry and not playing for weeks. Speaking of Halloween, our first spooky season decorations were gifted to us during the week. Considering it's January, we're right on schedule! Well, it's time to get this new week started. I've got some fun posts headed your way! Thank you so much for reading, please be sure to share with your friends!

Friday Night Frights- The Haunted Mask

Time for another edition of Friday Night Frights here on the Base and let me just tell you, Goosebumps is good as hell. I know I said a little while back that I was going to scale back on the Halloween stuff until the actual the season starts here on the site and I lied. I'm not going to apologize about it either. I mean, even Disney is getting in on the spooky shit early. Know what? Disney does Halloween right. If they're pulling my act, so can I. Candy corn y'all.

Goosebumps is good as hell, I've said so a few poorly written sentences up. In The Haunted Mask, we see Carly Beth try to overcome her fear of everything by wearing a scary ass mask for Halloween. She gets said mask from a magic store and boy howdy things go wrong. Fast. For good measure, the sequel episode is attached.

Wear A M.A.S.K, Drive A Truck

M.A.S.K was a really cool toy line featuring transforming vehicles by Kenner. I've talked about it before and you've probably had your own share of fun with it. This commercial with live action actors just jives with me right now. Probably because I've been putting on my face mask often. It's a triviality of the current situation, but man. I feel like I'm gearing up for action when I get up from my desk and go to the break room for some coffee. It's a little chilly today, so a little while ago I put on my hoodie and mask when I needed to leave my office for something. Had to gear up, naw meen brah? If the mask didn't cause my glasses to fog up I'd wear it driving home.

The Rhino Put A Hurting On Me

Ah, M.A.S.K by Kenner. A truly great toy line featuring transforming vehicles. Really one of the better toy lines that sadly was only around for a little while. There was a short lived follow up with Vor-Tech, but man, the line deserves a better legacy. Most people remember the vehicles seen in the commercial above. The Rhino particularly was a great toy. A semi truck with guns, a separating car, and... a big launching missile.

You may have noticed I've never complained about child safety laws with toys. Mainly because I'd rather consider the safety of others before being concerned about the length of a missile or the sharpness of a sword. I do have a little first hand related experience, after all.

There I was Christmas morning in 1985, playing with my brand new M.A.S.K Rhino. What a great toy! I drove the little detached car around. Aimed the smoke stack guns all over... hey, how do I make that big missile shoot? Have you ever seen that big missile?

It big.

The missile would launch from the sleeper portion of the cab, but how was I to launch it? There I was, sitting at the kitchen table, looking all over this toy truck when my finger found the magic spot as my head was in the other magic spot. In other words...
