Godzilla Collection from Kidrobot Out Now!

Godzilla officially kicked off the 65th anniversary earlier this month, but if you ask him about retirement, you’re likely to get blasted with radioactive flames – because Godzilla is having busiest year ever. After making a historic debut at San Diego Comic Con this year, Toho Studios has partnered with Kidrobot to introduce an atomic-sized Godzilla capsule that celebrates the King of the Monsters 65th year on our planet.

The atomic-sized Godzilla capsule includes two 8-inch art figures, one plush, one flat-billed hat, a bomber jacket, and a festive Godzilla City-Destroyer holiday sweater, all in celebration of the iconic lizard’s 65th birthday.

Godzilla King of the Monsters

As usual, due to my work schedule and honest time preference these days, my early tickets had been purchased for a peaceful Sunday morning showing. I won't mince words and I'm not going to spoil anything either. This was a love letter to Godzilla fans. An outright big budget kaiju throwdown by Hollywood that managed to be so authentic and fan serving that I'm almost concerned that I'm still asleep and won't be at the movie until later.

A straight shot of pure adrenaline is the bloodline in a movie full of monster madness with Monarch going full G-Force trying to keep up with all the madness. You had bad guys vs good guys and holy crap Ghidorah in his most threatening appearance maybe ever.

The monsters were on point with little things that went with each one making them more like living beings than special effects. Rodan felt so pure with his burning wings and slightly self serving behavior. Mothra is a giant breathe of wholesome and goodness. Godzilla seems like an old soldier who's going to keep fighting until there's nothing left to give. Ghidorah was a force of nature and omg each head had it's own personality. God(zilla), I loved that.

I want to send the movie crew a thank you letter for this movie. I loved it so very much and have been on cloud 9 since leaving the theater. Looking forward to Kong vs Godzilla next year, but getting a copy of this movie feels even further away. Pure exhilaration.

Godzilla vs Evangelion

Earlier today, my wife texted me a screenshot of our advance tickets for Godzilla King of the Monsters. Of course I'm excited, in just a few weeks I'll be in full giddy kaiju glee in my theater seat. Magically enough, over in Japan, Universal Studios (love that place) new attraction Godzilla vs. Evangelion The Real 4D will open. For one magic weekend, Godzilla is going to be EVERYWHERE. While I doubt I'll be able to swing by Universal in Japan anytime soon (I'd be happy just to go to Florida again), I'll be content in enjoying the new movie over here (though I'd kill for some of that merchandise they're selling over there). If you've been holding off on buying any of the great Godzilla toys for sale at your local stores... you might want to get a few soon.

I'm going to have a hard time not stomping one around in the theater while the movie's on.
