Monday Blaster

It's Monday morning again, I'm enjoying a cup of coffee and watching a video on cursed Japanese websites.

Welcome to Zone Base.

I hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was awesome. The Mrs and I did some early Halloween shopping and found some great stuff. Our local At Home hasn't stocked yet disappointingly enough, though plenty others we've seen online have. Michael's, however, had an aisle halfway stocked with the spooky seasons initial offerings. It was very fun and even though summer is just starting, Halloween is coming.

While out Saturday, I picked up a Flame Toys Furai Model kit of Rodimus. It's his IDW design and looks great. I've got a few Flame Toys kits, but with Blokees and Yolopark having such a hold on my attention at the moment, feels weird. I really should get more, they look amazing. BotCon was going on this weekend and I wish I could have visited some of those booths! Both Blokees and Yolopark had solid representation and once again Yolopark made the exclusives. I should really get those.

I'm really looking forward to the new upcoming mini AMK Transformers kits they have coming. I'll be sure to talk about them here. I also picked up a ReAction Universal Monsters blind box from their current Silver Screen set. It's a black and white figure set of the classic monsters and awesome as always. I got The Mummy! I also grabbed a digital download card for Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour. It's an oddball mixture of a technical showcase of the new hardware and cozy game. I wasn't going to get it until seeing several people online praising it. It was only $10, so why not? I found myself enjoying it quite a bit and yeah, it's oddly fun.

Sunday was Cat Dads Day. The kitties and Mrs suprised me with a gift bag of fun! The Transformers X Sonic crossover set was inside as were some Transformers 5 Surprise mystery balls and a Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron blind box. They had made me some awesome cards too... how do our cats have better grammar than me? I'm lucky to have such a wonderful little family and enjoyed it very much. The Mrs and I played Mario Kart and we're steadily working our way though Stranger Things still and on our way for Season 5 this year!

I've had a fun weekend full of fun stuff, and even pre-ordered the Transformers Godzilla toys. They're due to be shipped soon, so hopefully my history of bad luck with pre-orders doesn't reappear. Well, we've got a new week to get started. I've got a fun week of robots, monsters, and misadventure coming your way! Thank you all for reading Zone Base. Please share with your friends and Mutual High Fives everyone!

Master the New Week

It's a new week here on Planet Zone and dang that weekend went by too fast! Friday the Mrs found some Rise of the Beasts stuff for me, followed up with us finding more Saturday. That's in addition to picking up Legacy Metalhawk and Bomb-Burst. We got quite a lot, it was exciting. Thanks to Beast Alliance toys having an actual fair price, I got a lot. Prices are getting out of hand. That's another plus to the awesome Beast Alliance line.

Sunday we went to a family dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse that turned out to be a bad decision. We eat there regularly, but always take out. It was over crowded and our party was shoved into a booth just a little too small. Welp, not eating inside there any longer. Take out only. The rest of the day was fine back at mom's place, but dang that was an uncomfortable dinner. Earlier we had stopped at Pop Shelf and I grabbed some blind bag clip figures based on Universal Studios horror movies that weren't their classic monsters.

We got figure versions of Chucky in his Good Guys box and the They Live poster. I also got a Transformers blind bag labled as a wacky walker, but was a straight up articulated keshi. I got Megatron. Don't recall any news sites reporting these, but considering they aren't expensive figures from sponsors, no surprise. There's an Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Soundwave in the series too. Think I'll try to get more. They're neat. I like Pop Shelf, need to go there more often.

I worked in a play through of Aliens vs Predator (the Capcom Arcade game) and a little Drill Dozer on GBA. I wish I had more weekend, but I guess if they went on forever they wouldn't be as special. That's bs, I'd be happy. Thanks everyone for reading Zone Base. I've got a fun week in store. It's the last normal week before our next special event! If you like what I'm doing, please share posts with your friends!

Hope your week is the bomb

It's Monday, time for a new week on Planet Zone! I spent my weekend doing a lot of running around. Did some shopping Saturday and a family dinner at Olive Garden on Sunday. We were celebrating both my older brother and his daughter's birthdays this coming week. I've always liked Olive Garden, so it was definitely an enjoyable meal. The Super Bowl was this weekend... and I'm not a sports fan. Of course the various released trailers were alot of fun. I saw them online of course. I'm so excited for Rise of the Beasts that it's getting critical level. There may be an explosion before the movie gets here.

I also enjoyed a good bit of tokusatsu and kaiju this weekend. In part of anti-Super Bowl programming several channels ran specific marathons. I took in Tokushoutsu and Daikaiju TV's various offerings and had a lot of fun doing so. Was really enjoying Gameboy games via the new Switch Online Gameboy channel and on my emulation handhelds. Real ones know.

Put in some quality time with the Digivice. I've been running a pretty successful team of Greymons for a week now. They pooped a whole lot though. It honestly got to be a game of poop management moreso than battles. Sunday morning, one just up and died. I have no clue why, but suddenly the funeral march started blasting and there was a gravestone next to a mountain of poop.

That ones egg sat around during the entirety of the Digimon I talked about last weeks lifespan, so I think old age sat in quicker than I was expecting. I think after this current Greymon I have left passes, I may play another Tamagotchi. I want a Digimon X, but think I'll get an R2-D2 Tamagotchi and play it for awhile. Take a break in battling, you know? Great portable fun.

As far as toys, I got a pretty good bit. Earth Spark Flip Changer (that I've been wrongfully calling Turbochangers) Swindle, Tacticon Optimus Prime, Velocitron Crasher (just one more Velocitron to go!), and MOTU Origins Mantenna. The Walmart I was at had plenty of Earth Spark, but I was trying to keep my spending under my self governed weekly amount.

I definitely want some warrior class figures and more flip changers and tacticons. I'm really all about some Earth Spark. I'm having alot of fun thinking about the G1 cartoon connection. Even if it's just for appearances and not super in depth, there's a lot of mental ground that can be considered. Think about various extensions of the original cartoon. Takara's seasons, various tie-in manga like Legends, fan club comics. Then try to mentally make it work with Earth Spark. It's fun... and potentially more interesting for me in that aspect even though the Earth Spark show is so good.

I didn't intend for this post to be as long as it was, and I'm not sorry for that. Sometimes it's just fun to write, even with my various grammer mistakes and aggrivations from typing on my phone while drinking coffee. I hope everyone has a great week. I've got some fun posts planned, if you can, please share them with your friends. I'd really appreciate it. If the clip at the top of the post looks fun, it is! Bomber King was also released as Robo Warrior. The Gameboy version was released as Blaster Master Boy (or Jr. depending on region). Give it a play if you've got the time, it's pretty good.

Blaster Master Zero 2

I'm a little surprised this one snuck past me without noticing a few months ago. I've always enjoyed the Blaster Master games and really liked the reboot/remake Blaster Master Zero that came out a few years ago. I wish I would have known about this sooner or I would have bought it day one. Not sure how it got past me without knowing until now, though admittedly sometimes these things happen (adult life). Totally getting this ASAP and see it being my July 4th holiday weekend gaming fix. My mind is just blown by how good this looks!
