Monday: Judgement Day

It's time to start another week of robots, monsters, and misadventure here on Zone Base! Thank you all for returning and supporting the site. I hope everyone had a great weekend, I sure did. Saturday... I didn't do a damn thing and it was marvelous. The Mrs and I watched TV and enjoyed some pizza. Sunday we went out for a little shopping and visited our local Target. Most of their Halloween goods were in stock and it was a lot of fun taking it in. No new toys i  stock for me, but that doesn't mean it was a wasted trip. I had grabbed 2 more Power Rangers/Godzilla crossover blind bags and they turned out to be both of the series chase figures! I've grown really fond of this series and might finally read the comic. What were the chase figures? Well, just remember I tend to be about a week ahead on toy posts here on the site. Please look forward to more on them soon!

I ordered a special BeastBox purchase with plans to make another this weekend. There's alot of cool stuff they have and I just can't get enough. What did I order? Well, hopefully those toys will be here soon enough for a post within the coming days. Speaking of upcoming posts, I've been trying to figure out how to properly talk about Cyberworld Scorponok. I've had him for a few weeks and frankly am not equipped to do big toys. It'll take some brain storming, but I really want to cover all of the Cyberworld toys here on the site. I really like them!

Sunday evening, Mom came over for dinner as usual. The Mrs made a wonderful lasagna dinner and let me just talk about her lasagna for a second. She makes it with ravioli and it is amazing. I'll be happily taking leftovers to work for the next few days. We finished our rewatch of Stranger Things and now am all caught up for the new season starting on Thanksgiving. I'm excited, but maybe a little sad to see it end. Speaking of ending, the newest and allegedly last Conjuring movie was released this weekend. We had planned to go see it, but decided to wait for streaming. Hopefully it'll be good, I hate to see it end as well. I spent the rest of the evening building Blokees Transformers and enjoying some gummy candy. Well, as usual, I should get my day started. There's some household chores and toy pictures for upcoming posts to take. Zone Base is about enjoying my hobbies with all of you and I really appreciate everyone reading. I also really appreciate the uptick of traffic latley and still only ask that you share the site with your friends. We've got 2 months of Halloween to go and tons of robots, monsters, and misadventure coming. Mutual High Fives everyone!

Combine into New Week

Gang, another week has begun. Like you, I'm not a fan of Mondays, but that also means another week of fun here on Planet Zone! I had a pretty good weekend. Did some weekly shopping and picked up Studio Series Game Edition Megatron while out. Ate some great salad and my favorite grocery store sushi. We watched The Nun 2 and took down the Halloween decorations in the yard (boo). The Mrs made us an excellent chicken dinner Sunday night and I got an errand for Christmas done. In all a productive weekend, but still fun. Right now I'm enjoying some coffee and watching Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla. I've noticed my company has some commercials playing on the Godzilla Channel. I know it's probably part of an advertising program, but it still makes me happy. Thank you for continuing to support Zone Base. I've got a fun week planned, so please be sure to share it with your friends.

The Conjuring Made Me Part 3

This weekend saw the release of 'The Conjuring: The Devil made me do it', which is officially the Conjuring part 3 and the 8th movie in the series. The 'true events' the movies are based upon would be the adventures of the real life Ed and Lorraine Warren. As a kid I was a big fan of so called real ghost stories books and The Warrens had quite a few. I still remember my friends and I being terrified of Raggedy Ann dolls thanks to the real life Annabelle in elementary school

By the way, I'm going to try and be as spoiler free as I can be. Though just in case, the rest of the post is after the jump. (Unless you're reading a direct linked page)

The Conjuring Halloween Special

I've got something to admit, I was terrified of Raggedy Ann as a child. While The Conjuring movies are great, most people don't know those "true stories" they're based on happened somewhat recently.

Thanks to The Exorcist and The Amityville Horror, paranormal and occult stuff was pretty much all over the place during my childhood. Add in 80's Satanic Panic and you've got the recipe for much needed therapy. One popular ghost story was the possessed Raggedy Ann doll.

I'm of course talking about the real life Annabelle, which was an object of terror to a generation of children. It doesn't help that Raggedy Anne dolls were still everywhere at the time and someone gave her a Halloween Special. It's about the doll bringing a lonely pumpkin and child together. You read that right.

F-Zero

So, last weekend after we had settled down from my birthday adventure, I played some F-Zero while the wife slept before falling asleep myself. I've always liked F-Zero on the SNES and with our 'mini' consoles in the bedroom, I can play games while the wife sleeps. She usually falls asleep (it took me like 5 times to spell asleep right, that's uncalled for) before I do and there I am just quietly playing F-Zero and farting so loud it wakes her up.

I can't count how many times I've farted while someone was sleeping and they thought it was a ghost.

It's pretty ridiculous.

I'd like to think I'm good at it (F-Zero), but realistically, I'm probably terrible (much better at farting). I have fun though (both). Thinking this weekend... I should put some time in F-Zero again. Right now my plans include some kind of grape flavored drink and maybe some Pringles. Probably watch some old horror movie at a point.

I like to play Pico normally, sometimes Captain Falcon. I just misspelled Falcon and it wasn't until I saw the little red line underneath it until I noticed. Falcon is the main guy and has the best car, but Pico seems to handle those crazy turns better and that's where business is done. While everybody is all skidding around those corners, Pico just rolls around them in his car that looks like Cosmos. Just rolls around and keeps going. You gotta be ready to trade some paint in those corners. They say that in racing.

What the heck did I do this weekend?

Enjoyed another peaceful weekend. Friday morning before coming home from work, I stopped by Walmart and scored Devastator leaving only the G1 reissue Minibots left to acquire. Kinda hoping they do more later, but at the same time don't look forward to trying to buy them before they sell out. Saturday I stopped to get groceries and breakfast on the way home as later that night the Mrs and me went to see The Nun at a later evening showing.

Before leaving and after some sleep, I caught up with my DVR. Cyberverse was excellent this week. I really enjoy this show and it's getting better each week. Usually a cartoons first episodes are the worst and the first episodes weren't bad! At this rate I wonder if the series end will be amazing. I enjoyed seeing Shockwaves little drones, making me wonder if the toy's eventual repaint will be a troop builder of those. Makes me think of that old BotCon idea of using the Megabolt Megatron mold as a bug like army for Cryotec.

Ninja Steel was decent, the 'lesson' of this weeks show was decent, just felt like it needed a little more something. Basically, Calvin gets a job as a mechanic and quits school. Decides to go back to school after helping fix the Lion Fire Megazord with Mick, with Mick showing him what to do. Though the message is solid and boy I liked this weeks monster, it felt a little uneven on the lesson part.

The Nun was great. We enjoy the Conjuring movies as a whole and this one was pretty top notch. Maybe not perfect, but pretty close. I really liked the setting, pretty much what I wish Universal would have done with Dark Universe. Here we had basically an updated 'old timey' spooky movie in a castle that had substance AND style. Action packed with scares, this was a great movie. I like The Conjuring moves as a whole, but I didn't like the Annabelle moves as much as the main movies while I feel this one might actually be better than the main movies. Just an overall good horror movie.

Afterwards we went to the nearby Walmart to check out it's Halloween section and I picked up the rest of the Bumblebee Speed/Legion series wave 1. It's funny, these toys are $5 again while the Last Knight ones jumped up to 8-9$ last year. Weird. We got some Steak and Shake and came home. Great night. Sunday was spent similar to last weeks, more work in my toy room and just a nice day at home. I learned of a new smaller Authentics Grimlock being found, so this morning I looked without luck for one this morning while doing some errands. One day little Grimlock... one day.

The Pumpkin who couldn't Smile

I'll sneak a programing note into this here Halloween Horrorcon post. It's Labor Day weekend and between having company and needing a little R&R, I'll be taking a few days off from posting until after the holiday. Hope everyone ejoys the long weekend as well as this charming cartoon staring Annabelle from the Conjuring.
