More Violence, More Action, More Monday!

Monday again, yeah... dammit. Like you, I wish it was still the weekend. I guess we'll just have to get through the work week with more robots, monsters, and misadventure! My weekend was pretty good. Some weekly shopping and good food. The Mrs and I decided to re-watch all of Stranger Things so we'll be caught up when the new season premieres later this year. So far we're 2 episodes down and it's just as good again!

As for toys, my stores were pretty limited. They're due for a restock. The Mrs did grab me some gacha while out at Target Friday. 4 of the new 5 Surprise Transformers balls and a Voltron bag figure. Voltron was him forming the blazing sword (woo). The TF's were 1 Megatron in robot mode, 1 Wheeljack in vehicle mode, and 2 Starscreams in vehicle mode. These new 5 Surprise Transformers are pretty neat, but they sure are stretching the '5'. You get the character and a weapon. A trading card, a sticker, and a bag of kinetic sand. I guess that's 5 things? I also ordered the Swapticons Jungle Mission 5 pack. It's never showed up at my local stores and I didn't want to miss out. With new Swapticons images getting leaked, my excitement for the little bots was revived. The line is getting even more fun toys that I'm looking forward to. There's a Clench!

I've got a fun week in store for you all. We'll be looking at the new Mega MechaBeast toys from 52toys BeastBox! Of course another Transformers Blokees will be making an appearance. Halloween is around the corner and I'm gearing up for another spooky season on Zone Base. Code Orange is starting to ring out as some stores are starting to stock their early wares. New items from Target have arrived at my house and we're keeping an eye on our local At Home. Thank you all for reading Zone Base. Don't forget to share with your friends and Mutual High Fives for all!

More Monday, More Violence!

It's Monday again and a new week on Planet Zone has begun! I had a good weekend that I'm sad to see over. The Mrs and I did some more Halloween shopping. Neon is appearing to be a big theme in this years stuff and I find that awesome. Between the Toxitron Transformers and that... neon is a vibe I can get behind. It's one of those times I was accidentally psychic when coming up with the looks of the Halloween party here on the site. That's gonna be starting soon, hope you're all ready for Pumpkin Spiced Mayhem 2023!

Unfortunately I didn't find any Toxitron Transformers this weekend, but didn't come out empty handed. Studio Series Airrazor and Earthspark Warrior Class Jawbreaker now have a home. Speaking of Earthspark, new episodes are hitting Paramount Plus this week! I've got a fun week of content planned for you all, thank you for continuing to support Zone Base. If you could, please share posts with your friends and like and follow us on social media.

Robocop Hates Bugs

For the past few years the wife and I have been wanting to move only to stay where we're at. This year we've been putting a considerable amount of work into actually moving. While we've seemingly found a place (unless some 11th hour bad luck causes plans to fall through), man we've been through the ringer looking all over. There's all sorts of things you don't consider until you actually need to consider them. Which leads to a rather sitcom like confession of mine, like you, my waking thoughts often pop up in my dreams. Unlike you, I'm possibly (probably) insane.

I'm almost 42... I'm just like this ok?

So one apartment neighborhood in a pretty swanky area really had us sold, we discovered it and it's neighboring communities had bug problems. Bed bugs, roaches, scorpions, silver fish, you name it. That's freaking gross! I have no clue why that town's so fancy pants when they got bugs in their cereal, but no way man. No freaking way. Moving alone is a stressful situation, but looking for a place to move isn't a cakewalk either.

So there I was, seemingly have found the perfect place. A condo large enough to fit our needs and in a pretty good area. We were settling into our new home on or first night there. Then there they were... roaches. Pouring out of the air vents, the plumbing, getting into my kool-aid. Just awful. I don't know about you, but I like to take care of business. No messing around, if theirs business to be taken care of... TCB mother fucker.

So I pulled out a tommy gun from the Dick Tracy coat I was wearing (to bed) and just started shooting every roach in sight. Just firing like mad, and yelling. Because when you shoot a machine gun for more than a second you have to yell while doing it. Bullets piled on the floor, roaches fell dead. This was my house and I had to defend it.

Ever wake up running to the bathroom wondering why 50 gallons of pee comes from a 12 ounce can of Coke? It was 3/4ths of the way through that when I realized I was awake and not shooting roaches. Oh by the way... ever seen that Japanese bug spray commercial staring Robocop?

Robocop loves fried chicken

Robocop is fucking awesome. This is a fact, there's no arguing that. Water is wet, green means go, Robocop is fucking awesome. I've never had Lotte ham fried chicken before, and honestly I didn't need Robocop to make me want some. That sounds amazing and next time I'm at H-Mart I'm gonna try to get some. Though, having Robocop sell me ham fried chicken by Lotte? Simply amazing, I'm there. Man... there's literally NOTHING that dude can't sling.

Robocop Nissin Noodles commercial

Still burning the candle at both ends, and thinking the middle of the candle has found a way to catch fire. Fortunately I'm having some noodles for lunch tonight, which will perk up my spirits. While picking out the lunch from my grocery, I was reminded of this old commercial. Ok, that and the urge I've had to pick up a specific Robocop figure at Toylanta this spring.

The Mobile Cop Jiban opening

I wish I has more than a casual knowledge of The Metal Heroes series outside of watching the occasional episode when I have some spare time. Thanks to VR Troopers, Big Bad Beetleborgs, and it's friendly relationship with Robocop I was drawn to the series naturally. One thing I really enjoy about older tokusatsu is the embracing of horror in the villains. Sure, you got the sci fi and all, but the monsters are straight out of an 1980's haunted house. What's not to love?
