Sparkplug is the Mini-Con partner of the Autobot leader, Optimus Prime. Sparkplug converts into a super fast sports car and helps Optimus Prime on reconnaissance missions. He also combined with Optimus Prime in battles to increase the Autobot leader's strength.

Guns In Mystery Bags

Today I was thinking about something that's not unlike an earlier thought I had. What if Battlemasters came in blind bags? Not like the main guys, but a side line full of funky repaints? During the Unicron Trilogy Takara sold funky colored Mini-Cons/Microns in blind packaging and it was great! Battlemasters would be perfect to equip guys lacking in firepower. It doesn't even have to be Generations aimed either. Earlier this week I got the Cyberverse Sharkticons and Quintesson sets. It would be cool to have some firepower to give the bots in those sets. Or even some of the standard figures. Warrior Hot Rod sure would look sweet with a gun!

Dragoyell

One of the coolest promotions during the Transformers live action movie toy lines was the lucky draw toy Dragoyell. Using one of the coolest Mini-Con molds at the time, Dragoyell was part of a TV Magazine promotion and was extremely limited. At the time, the Beast Wars anniversary series was still going on in Japan (it had wrapped up the year before here in the US) to much acclaim (the toys were very well painted) and Dragoyell was a new beast era character!

Arms Bumpers

I can really appreciate how Arms Micron (the Japanese version of Transformers Prime) incorporated the toys into the show's bumpers for commercial breaks. It's nothing major, but just a neat nod to the Microns that came with the toys that were absent from the show.

It's been years and I'm still waiting on more

Not everything works out as you'd expect. When Powercore Combiners hit I was ecstatic. This was going to be huge I thought. I was pumped, I thought it was great. I still remember sitting in a  Captain D's when the leaked images first started popping up. We had already had various rumors and scuttlebut, but suddenly here was leaked images of this actual new line. I was spending the day with my Mom and we decided to have something to eat, and while I was checking my Blackberry (it was a lot longer ago than it seems) there it was. I was pumped! I was excited! This, this was amazing! This was going to be huge!

Basically you take a basic sized figure and give it a Mini-Con that serves as a weapon or can form armor. Then, you have similarly themed drones that auto transform when connected to that basic sized figure to make a large combiner. I thought it was great! I loved the drones. I hoped for blind bagged crazy color variations! Man, just wait until Takara gets a hold of these, there's going to be a crazy story and so many more. This, this is perfect.

When they started hitting stores I snatched up all I could. I loved these things, they were great. Unfortunately I was the only one who thought so, but luckily that meant I got plenty of them for cheap on clearance.

So what's next?

Robots in Disguise season two just wrapped up and with season three coming in fall, I thought I'd take time time to talk about what I'd like to see.

There's probably a chance I'll spoil a thing or two, so consider this your warning.

Mini-Cons have really taken over this show. From just a few to a freaking ton. In season three I'd like to see a bigger storyline with the little guys.

Maybe there can be a Mini-Con big bad guy. Or maybe a big event for the little guys. Wouldn't it be awesome if the new big baddie was a Mini-Con?

Yes it would, duh.

Speaking of new big baddie, all the Decepticons have been taken back home. Some new threat has to take over for Steeljaw. I hope whatever new crew of baddies come, that they still have those creative designs that the last ones had.

Seeing how Optimus left with Wingblade and Ratchet, I'd like to see Jazz make a return. Perhaps even some new characters could visit or even join the group. I'd also love to see adventures in space or on other planets. That'd be fun. Or even a time jump, a little extra sci if never hurt anything.

I'm really looking forward to season three and hope it continues to be as great as the past two seasons have been. This show is a million pounds of great and I'm glad to see it chugging along.
