In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Godzilla vs Gigan, Toho will be releasing a short cgi film November 3rd. 'Godzilla vs Gigan Rex' will debut during Godzillafest on Toho's YouTube channel! Anytime is a good time for Gigan!

Marshmallow Brains and other Strangeness

 

Man, it's hard to believe it's already Halloween. Ok, that's redundant. Everyday is Halloween on Planet Zone! Now that we've all put away our trees and are starting the new year, it's time to get the spooky stuff back out! It won't be until August when the annual Halloween party starts here on the site. But as regular readers know, there's always something strange in this neighborhood.

A YouTuber I enjoy recently released a wonderful video with a spooky twist. Normally the channel features fun looks at odd items. Small toys, household item, stationary, and even food with weird twists get shown. Sometimes though, he looks at more scary items, which is what brings us to today. I watched this, loved it, and wanted to share it with all of you. Trick or Treat Zone Base readers. Every day is Halloween.

YouTube Channel Update

I updated the YouTube Channel today if you'd like to check it out. Still a work in progress, I think I need to work on my lighting more. I have some good lights that I didn't think I need to use as the area I'm using 'looks' like it's well lit. Of course in the finished video, it's a different story. Still trying to keep the videos short as I go, but ones a little longer than normal. It's a work in progress, and I'm enjoying it. I think next week I'll do Ghostbusters toys.

YouTube Channel Updates

New videos for the Zone Base YouTube Channel are up! I'm still learning here (relearning, I used to make a lot of videos a good decade ago), so they're a work in progress. Intentionally making them short until I get better.

If you hadn't noticed the link over there ---> in the right sidebar for a YouTube account for the past few days, well it's for the new Zone Base YouTube account! I've been wanting to do this some time (with a few false starts) and finally hit the ground stumbling! My first post is a bit of a test trial with an inexpensive action camera. I took it to my local Dollar Tree to pick out some blind bag goodies and that joker is getting returned! I guess further out and about videos will be done with my phone or much nicer camera that's getting used for other videos. To not have an empty channel, I uploaded some older videos I had made during a prior attempt to do videos.

It'll be a rough start and I'll probably be horrible at this but... well, I guess that's just a fact. I'm not out to be a big internet celebrity and just like this very site here, it's just a way to enjoy my hobby with others. Really the videos will be an extension of the site (like my Instagram) and I plan to have regular updates there. Please Like and Subscribe! (I get to say that now)

ABOUT TRANSFORMERS: CYBERVERSE

Miniforce is on Netflix!

They're cute and cuddly and they will kick your butt.

A few years go Miniforce started showing on Korean tv. I've been watching the clips online for some time and was overjoyed to discover it was put on Netflix just recently (June 1st to be exact!). So I put my watch through of Attack on Titan on pause (eventually I'll watch it all) and immediately began my binge (add to list, check).

The show is also on Youtube if you don't have Netflix. Being on Netflix though gives me hope that the toys will be released here in the US and potentially easier/cheaper to get. It's the same kind of hope I give that eventually the super cool Tomica Hyper Drive heads (man, they are cool and expensive) will find it's way here. Being that Super Wings is on US tv and it's toys are now on American shelves, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to hope to see these guys at my local Toys R Us.

The show is obviously aimed at smaller children. Each episode is about 13 minutes long, so you can really watch a bunch of adventures in no time. The Miniforce is a gang of smaller animals who spend the first few minutes of an episode being silly at home with their human companions. Shortly after the episode starts we see where the bad guys have sent the monster of the week, the gang changes into their Invincible Miniforce forms and rush off to battle. From there the show is an action packed animated Sentai/Super Robot show. When the big Mechamon of the week is turned giant, they call upon their Forcecars/Transcars to take them out.

The Forcecars are sleek vehicles that transform into larger robot modes and can even combine together to battle the larger threats. In all honesty, if the younger demographic cares you away from this show, it's really just in the opening of each episode where we see the gang at home. Once the action starts, it would probably be easier to swallow for you. It's a fun, albeit silly show that I dig 100%.

Between odd clips, discount DVD bins, and random toy finds. I've developed a casual interest in Korean robot/sentai shows that I'm happy to divulge in as the means to enjoy them becomes more readily available. With Miniforce getting a more mainstream push being now on Netflix, I hope it continues.
