Atomic New Years Week

We're roaring into the second week of our little holiday break. I hope you've had a great Christmas and want to thank you again for reading Zone Base. Like last week, this week will be a little light on content due to the holidays. Regular posting will resume next week, until then, Happy New Years everybody!

Happy New Year from Zone Base!

It's a New Year on Planet Zone! I have a fun years worth of content in mind for you all, but before we get to that... dude it's a holiday weekend. You're having one too. I'm well aware that nobody is reading this. It's ok. I understand. Totes. I just hope you understand me enjoying the holiday and taking a little break in your regularly scheduled reading material... that... you're... not ... reading. Thanks for supporting Zone Base! If you were reading, all I'd ask would be for you to share the posts with your friends. Since you're not reading though and enjoying the holiday... please share with your friends! I'll be back Tuesday to start the New Year off with more robots, monsters, and misadventure!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year from Zone Base

It's New Years Eve as I'm posting this and the start of another holiday weekend. Of course I'll be back Monday, but until then it's time to enjoy the little break. I hope you all have a great holiday. Happy New Years Zone Base readers, what a year it's been! Here's to hoping 2022 is better for us all! Thank you all for another year of supporting my weird little site about robots and monsters. I really appreciate each and every one of you for reading and sharing with your friends. I know there's bigger and better sites out there for you to spend your time on. The fact that you take the time to see what I have to say with all the better options out there is really flattering. Once again, Happy New Years Zone Base readers. Thank you for all your support and please share with your friends.

Happy New Year From Zone Base!

Happy New Year! It's been a rough 2020, but here's to a better 2021! Hang in there gang, we're almost through this mess. Thank you for another year of reading Zone Base. I know there's bigger and better sites out there but... there's bigger and better sites out there. However you still chose to read this weird site about robots and monsters and that means a lot to me! I'd like to say I've got a lot of fun stuff planed, but hell. I don't even know what I'm going to do tomorrow. Regardless, we're gonna have another fun year on Planet Zone and I'm glad you're a part of it! Don't forget to share with your friends!

Ringing in 2020 with Double Dragon part two

Am I the only one to find it slightly weird that it's almost 2020? I knew I lived in the future before... but this is a little crazy. As normal, I expect to see people asking where their flying cars are totally ignoring just how much they do with their phones. Speaking of phones. For those of you reading this on the mobile site, just like earlier you won't notice a difference. But for those using the desktop version of the site, under the break is the rest of the bios from the NES version of the Double Dragon instruction manual!

Ringing in 2020 with Double Dragon part one

It's New Years Eve! You've probably guessed just like Christmas last week that the holidays have disrupted things and you're totally right! Just like I'm you doing a mix of enjoying the holiday breaks and being completely confused by my odd work schedule during this time (I have no clue what day it is). But thanks to scheduled posts I can plan out in advance having SOMETHING on the site during this weird time.

During the 8-bit and 16-bit gaming eras I loved pouring through the games instruction manual. There was nothing worse when a game had a half assed manual included, because so many had great ones. More than just the basic instructions to play the game, the better ones would have all sorts of world building fiction included. The games back story, info on various items and power ups, and often little blurbs about the characters. I loved these and would read them over many over and over. Under the break (for non-mobile users) is a few from a old school favorite of mine, Double Dragon! Screen capped directly from the NES versions manual itself.

Happy New Year Bumblebee Japanese trailer

I'm a few days behind on this one, but Happy New Year everybody! The Bumblebee movie was just such a great movie it's hard not to enjoy this simple little trailer wishing fans out there the sentiment. Man, just a great movie.

Mighty Orbots/GodMars into a New Year

Mighty Orbots/Godmars intros

I'm sure my regular readers are probably noticing the lack of postings the past few days, and as you can probably guess it's due to the holidays. I didn't make a programing note post as I figured most people would have figured that out on their own already (folks stay pretty busy themselves this time of year). I did carve out a little time to refresh the sites look which usually I do around this time of the year. I tried to keep the same overall space station arcade look, but went neon space arcade. Because I like neon, arcades, and space. I'm probably the only person who sees it because I'm crazy.

Where was I?

Oh yeah, some of the things I plan to do during this long holiday weekend (I had one for Christmas and now one for New Years with a few work days in between... I have no clue what day it is right now as result) is watch the Mighty Orbots DVD set my wife got me for Christmas and some episodes of Godmars (since they're super similar looking) that's been on my watch list for a while. Since I got a metric ton of cool stuff for Christmas, I plan on breaking out the light tent for some good picture posts of some (just some) of the neato toys I got for Christmas. That and play some of the great arcade games that came on this neat retro game console my wife got me. I also plan to play some Monster Hunter. Because I like Monster Hunter and got the newest game for my Switch with some gift card money on boxing day. I know you're concerned.

New Year, same Zone Base

As 2017 comes to a close, I just wanted to thank everyone for reading Zone Base. Happy New Year and here's looking to another year of Adventures in Transformers and other strangeness here at Zone Base!
