I just learned about this game. Don't know if the news just passed me by or if it just wasn't covered well. Either way, this looks like something I'd love to play. I'm registered for it whenever it releases for Android, the iOS version is out now. Hoping it pops up soon, because that looks like a lot of fun!

Ready to pounce on season 6

Voltron season 6 hits this weekend on Netflix and it's cat crazy time at Zone Base in anticipation. I think I've settled on what pair of basketball short/t shirt combination to wear while I form the recliner and binge the new season of the best damn robot show going. Ideally, this will be a good time to test out that Little Caesars app for an Extra Most Bestest of ideal combination.

Power Rangers All Stars is live!

After waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the Power Rangers mobile RPG game (now called All Stars) is up on the Google Play Store (iOS coming later) though not in all countries yet. So, I'm very patiently waiting for it to become available in my region so I can finally try this bad boy out!

You know, it does look fun. I'm going to give it a try when it comes out, really hope it can keep my interests for more than a few minutes. I'm looking forward to building a team comprised of multiple teams, though not looking forward to the random character lottery that you get in these games.

Upcoming Power Rangers RPG

Thie characters in thus upcoming mobile Power Rangers RPG game look great. I'm somewhat looking forward to it's release, though hopefully it can keep my interest longer than most mobile games. I'm not the biggest fan of turned based games, and most mobile games are just that with the option of buying credits to make the turns go faster (which doesn't make me want want to do). I'd like something akin to a shooter or platformer that I'd only get so many free lives or something. Or just a shooter or platformer I have to outright pay for.

Hey, can I just get an action game for my Switch?

Forged To Fight

Earlier this week, the newest Transformers mobile game was released for Android and iOS. Transformers Forged To Fight is a combination of fighting game and RPG that results in a really good time. It's one of those free to play games that cost nothing upfront, but have pay features. Fortunately the for pay features are not presented in a way that pummels your urge to play the game to submission. They're all present, but not obnoxious. As in most games you can pay for additional resources and for  more playable characters.




The game features Transformers characters from various series and continuities in a setting that pits them against each other in a series of scenarios involving mutiple fights. When I say fights, I mean they beat the crap out if each other. The fighting is fun and not super complex, though involved enough to keep you enthralled. The ongoing storyline is entertaining and fun. I'm a big fan of cross dimensional team ups/ all out fights storylines and can't be more pleased for a new one that doesn't entirely repeat well worn threads.  One mission involves G1 Prowl having words with movie Barricade hilariously.

So far I've had a lot of fun with the game and hope to continue to enjoy it. It runs pretty smoothly on Stylo 2 and the size of the phone allows for me to play the game comfortably. I'm not sure if it's just as easy on the hands with a standard sized phone, but I can't imagine it being bad.

I really appreciate the variety of inspiration for all the various Tramsformers characters. G1 Optimus Prime is represented by his Combiner Wars voyager toy, while instead of movie Blackout, we get movie Grindor (who was that background helicopter Deception in Revenge of the Fallen, who was basically a repaint of the Blackout toy on shelves).  As Beast Wars characters are included in the game, I hope to see an Omega Point inspired event. I know that's incredibly far fetched, but would completely fit in the setting (yes, I know it will never happen).

Forged To Fight is pretty great and I can't recommend it enough for Transformers fans and those who enjoy a fun video game. You should go play it now.

HEADSTRONG:

Smug, arrogant to the point of insufferable, nothing can dissuade Headstrong once he's decided on a course of action. His commitment to his own plan of attack is total and unwavering, and everyone else can take their opinion and stuff it. But largely his whole demeanour is designed to mask a deep streak of insecurity, as Headstrong considers himself not as strong, intelligent or fearless as the other Predacons.

Nothing can dissuade Headstrong once he's decided on a course of action. His commitment is total and unwavering.

SLUG:

Considering he's one of the good 'bots, Slug is as nasty and mean-spirited as they come, and resents everyone from Optimus Prime down. The actual process it takes to build up a fiery (3,000 degrees centigrade plus) blast and reduce an enemy to molten slag is hardly energy-efficient, but he doesn't care. It's firepower well spent in his book. As he often says, "I have no need for friends, even less for enemies."

After what felt like an eternity, Transformers: Earth Wars was released for Android and iOS devices. I was pretty excited to play it and was happy to find it the best Transformers mobile game yet!

This isn't one of those carbon copy games where you build a city and defend it with gameplay that's really just a series of taps disguised as a next button with endless prompts to spend money. No, this is an extremely fun strategy game. Not only do you build a base and maintain it, but you also follow a story path leading your troops to battle.

You have the choice to play Autobots or Decepticons, as you progress, more characters join your group through means of completing campaigns or acquiring the gems that power the space bridge to randomly bring in more bots.

I've been having a hard time putting down my tablet, the game is tailor made for Transformers fans. There's a ton of characters, even some you'd not expect to find in something outside a comic. The dialog between characters is great and the story progresses naturally. Simon Furman has worked on the game and even some of his trademark phrases found their way in.

I've yet to try the PvP mode, but from going by others, it's a lot of fun. There is a nifty ongoing chat, which I've poked into a few times. It's nice to be excited for a new game, but it's better to be completely satisfied by it. I hope Earth Wars stays around for a while, because I don't plan on giving up on it.

Warfare of Cybertron

I'm no stranger to mobile games or apps featuring unlicensed famous characters. They're usually cheap click bait fodder aiming to make a few bucks off ads. However, hidden in the Google Play store is a charming little series of platformers that are made with 100% love.

Robot Warfare is a free game series made by a fan who has managed to make fun mobile gaming experiences with our favorite robots from Cybertron. Gameplay centers around working your way through a stage full of platforms and Decepticons. Impressively enough, each game offers a variety of characters to play including G2 Laser Optimus Prime (DUDE!).

The games look great on my 7 inch Galaxy, so I can only imagine they'd look great on a phone. Bright colors and a variety of on-screen characters add to the challenging (but not cuss and fling your tablet across the house hard) gameplay.

Considering the price (free), you have nothing to loose trying these out. So trust me, they're great and have more heart than some official offerings. There's even a GI JOE game!

I'd make a joke about these tablet games have the touch, but I'd like readers to come back.
