Power of the Primes Wreck-Gar

I was really happy to find this years Walgreen's Exclusive toy on the way to a Pumpkin Patch with my wife. Weirdly enough, the annual Walgreen's exclusive Transformer has become a big deal for me. It's one of the bigger moments in Transformers toys for me each year and Wreck-Gar is definitely a good choice. Using  Combiner Wars Groove as a base mold, Wreck Gar has a new head and includes his axe weapon from the Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar toy. Since this is a POTP toy, Wreck-Gar comes with a POTP Primemaster armor hand/foot unit.

The weapon choice seems out of nowhere, but combined with the hand/foot thing serving as a shield, the toy does draw a strong resemblance to his Generation 1 cartoon appearance. Of course Wreck-Gar transforms into his traditional motorcycle mode.

In his alt mode, Wreck-Gar looks really sleek. Much more sharp looking than a robot made of junk would look. But if you attach his accessories...

He seemingly looks more at home on his home planet of junk. I couldn't get the armor piece to connect to his chest, so I assume this is the intended Primemaster form. A POTP and CW deluxe toy is a combiner's limb, so Wreck-Gar can form into an ...

Arm or a...

Leg. Though I had trouble connecting the included foot in this mode. One would need to substitute it with another part to make that work. Though Wreck-Gar is destined to be the arm in my 'New Guard City' combiner, so it's not an issue for me. Overall Wreck-Gar is a good toy and a welcome member of the Walgreen's Exclusive club.

And he matches the season!
