Fearsome Flush Ain't Taking Crap

When The Real Ghostbusters get scared, they flip the crap out. That's fair enough. Think about it, if you or I saw a ghost, we'd probably run away screaming. These dudes, they literally deal with ghosts all the time. So when they get scared, it's pretty serious business. That leads us to this commercial.

Happening upon a werewolf in a junkyard scares Ray so much that he has to take a shit then and there. Right in front of Winston. Fortunately there's a random toilet just laying there. It's probably not connected, but at least it's better than making a Fright Feature in his pants. Unfortunately, the toilet is FEARSOME FLUSH! The demonically possessed toilet!

I'm not sure if a sudden mouthful of poop is what pisses him off so much or that he's just being a scary ghost. Who's a toilet. Either way it sends Winston and Ray packing as other ghosts kiss their back causing them to display new Fright Features gimmicks. I'll be honest, this is a pretty weird commercial. Also, what happened to the Werewolf Monster? Was the plan all along to send them to Fearsome Flush? Or did he just leave?

Fearsome Flush will be re-released at Walmart this summer. I'm pretty happy more Real Ghostbusters toys are on the way. It's a nice way to lead into the all new Fright Features figures coming soon. Not to mention, who wouldn't want a ghost toilet? Just think if it was a Conjuring movie. Ed and Lorraine Warren have this old toilet in their basement museum... it's evil is truly unknown until Judy make a terrible mistake on Taco Tuesday...

Mini-Puft Figure Mania

Because Ghostbusters: Afterlife dropped an awesome bomb on the world, it was revealed that Hasbro would be selling new blind packed mini figures of the new Mini-Pufts this fall! They'll be blind packed in containers of Stay Puft marshmallow cream (trying making a fluffernutter with this goo). The little guys will be hidden inside the 'goopy marshmallow-like compound'.

Hopefully the 'compound' won't be as sticky as the ectoplasm in the slime tubes from 2019. Combining these with the new Ecto-Plasm and Ecto-Plasm Ghost Gushers and I've got a lot of slime to dig through soon. I'm not complaining though, it's gonna be great! Hope I don't get any on the carpet.

Ghostbusters Get The Power Pack

Every once and awhile there's new equipment for the Ghostbusters that seems like a step backwards. From the start of business they used lasers to hold ghosts and a trap to catch the ghost. Pretty strong start, but a step forward in equipment would be an improvement overall. Various new equipment to ensure bustin continues to make them feel good.

Then on occasion they got new equipment that makes me wonder if Egon had some sort of quota to meet. For example, the Ecto-Bomber plane. They mainly serviced New York City. Which is kinda hard to believe they got anywhere on time in the Ecto-1 already. Where did they land that plane anyway and who had the pilots license?

That brings us to the Power Pack Heroes around when Louis and Janine joined the ranks adding some variety to the line up. Kenner was clearly taking whatever idea they had and making it a toy. That's one of the drawbacks of a successful toy line: constantly coming up with new product.

The Power Pack Heroes are the Ghostbusters with new ghost busting equipment that by all means is pretty hit or miss. Ray has a capture claw type device, ok sure. Just it's inside a giant box he has to ride around on to use. Remember that big staircase they had to climb to fight Gozer?

For the most part the Power Packs seem pretty useful though. Janine has a little go-cart, and Louis has a big trap. Then there's Egon's new equipment and remember, he made all this for the team to begin with. His Power Pack is some sort of flight pack, which on the surface makes sense. He can take flight after a ghost flies away. However if you'll notice it's capture action in the commercial, the propeller turns toward the ghost and grabs it. So... does he just fall from the sky then?

Friday Night Frights- Banish That Banshee

It's Friday Night, and you know what that means? That's right pizza! Wait... well... that's like what I do and... you know... oh hey... It's time for another edition of Friday Night Frights here on the Base! Filmation's Ghostbusters is kinda weird sometimes. I don't mean the kind of weird you'd expect from a group hunting ghosts. I mean like... they've got to stop a banshee in this weeks episode.

Honestly, that's the kind of thing you'd expect a team of Ghostbusters to do. But first, they need to find a leprechaun. I know I have hard days at the office, but you know, not weird ass wild goose chase days. Normally anyway. You know Eddie eventually quit and started working overnights at Kroger. Stocking Mio > Tracy's farts in the flying ghost car.

Friday Night Frights- Doggone Werewolf

It's Friday night, and you know what that means! Another edition of Friday Night Frights here on the Base. As a kid, I was a huge fan of werewolves. Especially in the third grade which is when this episode would have aired. I particularly thought Fangster was pretty awesome. He seemed like one of the more badass villains the Ghost Busters had to deal with. Even in his little green shortie shorts.

Ghost Busting Boxes Of Slime

I've been singing the song of Playmobil Ghostbusters for so long... I was going somewhere with that, uh... like a long time. Anyway, I'm a fan of Playmobil Ghostbusters. I had assumed that the line was getting phased out as Hasbro has the license now, they're seemingly replacing it with Scooby Doo (swapping out spooky lines), and most of the stuff has been on clearance (got the Ecto-1 for 22$).

However buried under all those click bait tweets you're probably still reading again for the millionth time was a little nugget. A morsel. A... *ahem* another Playmobil Ghostbusters item. Under a new play set pattern Playmobil is seemingly producing of small unfold-able locations is the Ghostbusters Play Box. A smaller, more compact version of the firehouse that looks pretty neat.

Judging by the camera, I'm assuming the Playbox's is intended to be a filming set. Which works as you've got some pretty choice locals. The containment unit, Janine's desk, and the put all your shit here wall. Peter Venkman and Slimer figures are pictured, so I assume they're included. It looks like you get a fair bit of accessories too. I could see this coming in handy as a backdrop for Instagram pictures. I wonder how it would scale with other figures? A Real Ghostbuster/Fright Features figure is just  little bigger than a Playmobil. I could see it working.

Another bit that escaped my attention was these cool new slime tubes with mystery figure. Similar to the ectoplasm tubes I was buying late last year (I've literally got a case still), you get a tube of slime with a randomly assorted mini figure hidden within. There's four different ghost figures assorted in four different colors. I don't know what the ghosts are yet, and I'm hoping they're randoms ghouls.

Not that I'd have a problem with a little Slimer, but I'd like some extra variety if I had a a choice. With the Real Ghostbusters figures coming I have high hopes for more of the random mini ghosts they'd come with. Something to pair with your new toys would be the perfect thing to go in these tubes. But if it's another Slimer, I'm not going to complain. If that last sentence were a text message, I'd type LOL and put an emoticon with it. The laughing one, maybe with tears coming out of it's eyes.

Friday Night Frights- The Maltese Monkey

It's another Friday night here at the base, and we're just gonna make this a thing now. Friday is my busiest work night of the week. Not to mention... I've noticed the reaction to doing this and I'm here to please! I came up with the title a few Halloweens ago, let's start using it!

On this Friday Night Frights edition of Zone Base, we have the Ghost Busters in their first adventure. I've showcased the Filmation Ghostbusters, but the name Ghost Busters is pretty well used. There's been quite a few Ghost Buster teams throughout entertainment history. Ghost Breakers staring Bob Hope for example. While Dan Aykroyd's gang may be my favorite there's no denying how great the other variations are. This is Filmation first Ghost Busters (I think) show which is a live action comedy. The Filmation animated Ghostbusters is actually the sequel to this! Those guys are this teams kids teamed with Tracy The Gorilla!

So sit back for twenty two minutes and Let's Go Ghost Busters!
